18 wheels of steel extreme trucker моды
18 Wheels of Steel: Extreme Trucker 2
So I got all nostalgic for this old game and picked it up on Steam, then quickly realised I’d need to make some changes before the game would be playable for me, so I went looking for mods!
The first thing I found was Blackbird’s FOV mod, right here on Steam, and I was able to quickly adapt that to my preferred 45 degree FOV angle.
Next, I scoured my old bookmarks and visited all of the old trucksim sites. While most mod links I found were long dead, I did come across this thread [trucksimulator24.de] on a German Trucksim forum, which links to an archive of Extreme Trucker 2 mods made by Bobmat4 / amberlinfan, one of the best modders for trucksims back in the day. One gem on this list is Bobmat4’s «Mega Mod» (several versions of it are listed), and as well there are a good number of trucks and trailers available there.
While some mods below are my originals, others are either inspired and adapted from parts of Bobmat4’s Mega Mod, or are directly extracted from it into a smaller mod that just does one thing, like «Weather Tweaks». I prefer things this way to an all-in-one mod that does some things you want, and a lot of things you don’t want.
So, with those credits done and huge thanks extended to both Blackbird and Bobmat4, it’s on with the mods!
Just download the *.SCS files you want from the links below and save them in your Documents\18 WoS Extreme Trucker 2\mod folder, then run the game.
The mods will automatically be loaded when the game starts.
This mod modifies all of the cameras in the game to use a 45 degree field-of-view, which I have found to provide the most realistic experience, being close to what the human eye sees.
It has the effect of reducing the «arcade» feel that the wider default 75 degree FOV delivers. Switching to a narrower field of view has the effect of making everything feel closer than the default FOV, and that includes the steering wheel and windscreen!
To counter this, I have moved the interior camera position (or «head» position) back a little in all trucks, to make sure the important gauges are visible on the dash at least.
This mod looks for a file called autoexec.cfg in your Documents\18 WoS Extreme Trucker 2\ folder and runs any console commands it finds there as the game starts.
After installing the mod in your mod folder, you will need to create the autoexec.cfg file and add in any console commands you want to run, such as this handy command, which slows down the simulation to 90% normal speed:
This mod increases the speed of most AI traffic in the game by around 20% in an attempt to solve the problem of very slow AI hogging the road and leaving you no chance to pass.
This mod sets all time compression values to zero, effectively halting the progression of time in the game, meaning that it’s now impossible to run out of time on a delivery.
If using in conjunction with other mods that alter time compression, such as my «Realism Tweaks», ensure that this mod loads later by adding a few «ZZZ»s to the start of the filename.
This mod replaces the three intro videos at game startup with a very short logo screen as the game world loads.
This simple mod corrects the UI stretching across multiple monitors by expanding the UI «workspace» from 1620×1050 to its triple monitor equivalent, 5040×1050.
This results in the UI no longer being stretched, but since the coordinates of each UI element have not been changed (difficult because some elements are dynamic), the UI, including the in-game HUD, now appears on the leftmost monitor.
I find this is quite acceptable, since I don’t use any part of the HUD while driving anyway, except for the map, which is still in a reasonable position and no longer stretched.
This mod adds a little more variety to the weather in Montana specifically, adding more foggy and snowy conditions for the game to choose from. I hope to add more weather in other locations as well.
Borrowed from Bobmat4’s original «Mega Mod», and split out to a separate mod by GeeTee.

Дополнительная информация: ещё один суперский мод от ××X××. Как и в прежнем релизе мод включает: Грузовик,салон, 10 (!) новых прицепов, и специальную карту. Для корректной работы требуется удалить все моды кроме этого, и создать новый профиль. Как сообщает автор, в моде есть несколько багов, и вскором времени их исправит, так же соеденит этот мод со своим предыдущим релизом, MACK SUPERLINER & LIVESTOCK ROADTRAIN COMBO.

Credits
-Jaiden built most of the dolly.
-the axles on the dolly are by Cristinel i think, they are off one of his trailers.
-the dozer is Diesel Dogs.
-the wheels are ivans macc wheels, i modified them to work with it.
-the actual float is all scratch built by me, Quentin, along with all the lights, landing legs and other small details on the dolly.
-and a couple parts from SCS.
i think that is all.
its standalone, but i havnt included storage or cargo files so youl have to do that yourself, i havnt had any spare time to do it
and again, not to be used in other VTCs, private use by non AF drivers is ok.

Новая версия фикса который позволит вашей техники более глубже проваливаться в грунт и грязь стала более реалистичной. Особенно это видно во время и после дождя.
Мод был протестирован на 1.25. Пак прицепов содержит в общей сложности 11 скинов. Прицеп автономный. Прописан в траффике Добавлено 5х грузов. Мод заблокирован.
Бескрайние просторы США и Канады оплетены сетью шоссе и автострад. Как кровеносная система в теле человека, эти дороги соединяют жизненно важные центры стран. Дорожным сообщением течёт сама жизнь: тонны товаров перемещаются из города в город. Огромные фуры – мощная тягловая сила экономики, а доставка грузов – доходный бизнес расторопных и расчётливых дельцов. Но в чётко отлаженном механизме.
Профессия грузоперевозчика – это настоящая мужская работа, полная дорожных приключений, риска и грамотного планирования. В игре «18 стальных колес. Мужская работа» можно ощутить всю романтику путешествий на огромной грузовой машине и узнать все сложности работы дальнобойщиков. Игрокам предстоит исколесить трассы Северной Америки и Мексики, научиться планировать свои маршруты с учетом погодных.
