Installing BL2 Reborn
This is a guide on how to setup Borderlands 2 Reborn for the first time. If you have already set up Borderlands 2 Reborn and are looking to troubleshoot issues, please see the Troubleshooting section here. Please know that Borderlands 2 Reborn is currently only supported on Windows PCs.
VERY IMPORTANT: Do not use BLCMM (Borderlands Community Mod Manager) to Hex Edit your game. It is currently out of date and will not be able to do so. This set up guide will tell you exactly what to use and when to use it.
Contents
Set your console key to F9. You can also set it to other keys on your keyboard but for the purpose of this tutorial, keep it set to F9.
Disable sanity check by going to Misc then Disable Sanity Check. Ensure you check off the 2 boxes there.
Once you have done these steps, hit the apply button. You’ll get a notice that Hex Multitool applied patches and you are free to move on to step 2.
Note: If already have the latest version of BL2 Reborn, feel free to skip to Step 3.
Download BL2 Reborn off the nexus by clicking this link. Once its downloaded, open the folder and move BL2Reborn.txt into your binaries folder for Borderlands 2. You can find your binaries folder in the same way as you did to setup your file path.
Updating Reborn
If you are simply updating reborn, you simply need to replace the old BL2Reborn.txt with your new one that you downloaded off the nexus.
BL2 Reborn is a modpack and an overhaul with lots of customization options. In order to easily customize BL2 Reborn to your tastes, you need to use Borderlands Community Mod Manager (BLCMM). If you do not already have BLCMM installed, you can click here and download it.
Open BLCMM and go to File > Open. Navigate to your binaries folder by either using the shortcut on the right side or manually and select BL2Reborn.txt.
You can now change specific things about BL2 Reborn. It is divided into 2 sections:
Changing or modifying anything in BL2 Reborn Core has effects that will modify the game in a noticeable way. For example, Eridium Chest will make the Golden Chest use Eridium instead of Golden Keys. It also houses the core of Reborn.
BL2 Reborn Optional Modules contain mods that can alter the presentation of the game or change things entirely while still being free to turn off or on. Mods like No Spawn Limit make it so there’s no enemy spawn limit, making the game somewhat more chaotic or Use The Original Yellow Money Color to turn money back to its yellow currency instead of its current green in Reborn.
Once you have selected all the things you want, ensure you save by going to File > Save. You are now able to launch BL2 and play Reborn.
Its important to execute the patch at the right menu screen and not too quickly. Doing so elsewhere will cause the patch to fail. The only right time to execute Reborn is at the Character Select menu after waiting 5-10 seconds. Failure to do any of this will require you to leave the game and re-launch it.
At the character select menu, press the key to open the console (we chose F9) and type: exec bl2reborn.txt
Your chat will show multiple messages saying BL2 Reborn has launched and not to execute any more mods.

» BL2 Reborn » is a modpack made by me which found its origins way back in Summer 2017 under the name » KPack «, published on the official BL2 modder Github. In Winter 2017 it became BL2 Reborn since it became more than just a modpack. In Summer 2018, development was halted because I didn’t have any free time to work on expanding and bug fixing. Now, it’s back and more stable than ever on Nexusmods.
Modpack built by Kumakobi and Ezeith, all credit goes to the mod authors.

With BL2 Reborn you can expect a fresh and new way to experience Borderlands 2, including the following:
Reborn is intended to give you the feeling of finding and experiencing the game as if it was fresh and just released again. Playing on an existing save file and/or using Gibbed to find about everything heavily cripples your experience in this. Do yourself the favor and go in blind with a new character.
WARNING: THIS MODPACK ONLY WORKS ON WINDOWS PC!
MAC IS NOT SUPPORTED! LINUX KINDA WORKS (SEE HERE: https://i.imgur.com/ZDOWzHe.png)
You can enable optional modules at the bottom of the modpack with BLCMM.
Lots of options are hand-picked by me. Don’t enable/disable stuff unless you know exactly what you’re doing!
Use on an existing save file at your own risk, make a backup. Items can and will disappear!
The following mods are incompatible with BL2 Reborn and I won’t fix them to be compatible with Reborn either. If the mod authors want to create a compatible version for Reborn I’ll gladly re-review this list.
NOTE: There’s no such thing as «hard incompatibility» in Borderlands 2. You will however encounter unintended behavior and instability / crashes if you use mods together which simply aren’t intended to go together.

We now have an actual wiki for BL2 Reborn thanks to Kalli and Ezeith. Everybody can contribute to expanding on this.
Check it out: https://bl2reborn.fandom.com/wiki/BL2reborn_Wiki
Q: Half of the stuff isn’t working (skill changes, drop sources being mixed up but gear replacers work)!
A:
Please refer to the topmost pinned message and set BL2 Reborn to offline mode with BLCMM. If that didn’t work:
1. You’re executing multiple mods one after another
2. You’re not online or connected to SHiFT or Steam or you lost connection
3. You executed the mod/patch ingame, not in the main menu
4. You executed the mod/patch too fast in the main menu (You need to wait 5-10 seconds, you can see the SHiFT pop-up in the bottom left)
Q: Can I use BL2 Reborn with the Unofficial Community Patch?
A: Most of the UCP changes are included in Reborn, don’t import it into Reborn or other way around.
Q: Does BL2 Reborn work in multiplayer?
A: Yes, as long as everybody is running the modpack.
Q: Do I need to run BL2 Reborn every time?
A: Every time you launch the game it needs to be ran once.
Q: How do I execute the mod?
A: Assuming you followed the guide on the mainpage and BL2Reborn.txt is in your Binaries folder, exec bl2reborn.txt.
Q: What do I do with the downloaded file?
A: Extract it using WinRar or 7-zip. You can download both for free. In there will be BL2Reborn(.txt).
Q: Hey my favorite weapon is replaced / gone!
A: Yeah that’s what BL2 Reborn does. Disable Sanity Check as adviced in the ReadMe and the Installation Guide.
Q: I have another question which isn’t answered here!
A: Check out the included ReadMe.txt file in the download for any further questions.
From what I’ve been reading, if you got this on the Epic Store (since Handsome Collection is free right now), you cannot use the BLCMM to install this and must use the Hex editor. I did that and the mod seems to be working, but I can’t figure out if there is a way to adjust the mod like you can with the BLCMM. Specifically, I am trying to turn cutscenes back on but I haven’t been able to google anything that says how to do that via the Hex Editor. Is that even possible without the BLCMM, or are the Epic Store version SOL?
*update* Nevermind, it appears you can still edit the mod via BLCMM even if the manager itself is not able to work with the Epic store version. Figure’d I’d leave this here in case anyone else who newly acquired the Epic store version ran into the same issue.
Borderlands 2 мод reborn
BL2 Reborn is no longer in development. You can still play BL2 Reborn just fine. Do not expect any bug fixes or help on the nexus page as the project has been discontinued.
The wiki will remain open since the mod is 100% usable in its current state; however, know that no new items, gear, weapons, class changes, loot source changes, or any other modification to the mod will take place.
We encourage users of the wiki to continue adding things such as missing item cards or their own advanced uses of items. Fixing our various typos is always welcome as well as adding things we may have missed in our initial setup of the wiki.
If you’d like to continue working on Reborn yourself, contact Kobi on his twitter here. The former BL2 Reborn Discord server is no longer active and he can no longer be reached that way.
The BL2 Reborn Wiki
Welcome to the BL2 Reborn Wiki. In these near 300 pages you’ll find a ton of information about the Borderlands 2 mod. This wiki was originally started to have a host of information centralized in one place but quickly grew to host almost everything related to BL2 Reborn.
On this Wiki, you’ll find:
A quick and easy way to access all of this is using the top menu (big orange bar). Everything is sorted into its own categories for easy access.
Want to Contribute?
Simply make a fandom account and help contribute to the BL2 Reborn community. Each weapon and item has an «Advanced Usage» section for community builds. Each Vault Hunter’s section will have a way to add your own builds. Spot a spelling mistake or an error on the wiki? Help the community by fixing it.
