Гравитация – это один из твоих зловещих противников, ведь она всегда будет мешать тебе проходить ту или иную преграду. Карта довольно своеобразна и уникальна, состоит из многочисленных мусорных отходов, по которым ты и будешь пробираться к заданной цели. Будь внимательным на каждом этапе, ведь потеряв бдительность ты упадешь, а это значит, что придется начинать все заново. Испытывать разочарование ты будешь постоянно, но при этом будешь делать все, чтобы наконец добраться до этой злополучной вершины. Пробирайся все выше и выше, не давая преградам отправить тебя в начало пути. Графика максимально простая, обладает яркими красками и приятной анимацией, а всю атмосферу здорово дополнит звуковое сопровождение.

Boxman’s Struggle относится к тому типу платформеров, где постоянно творятся абсурдные и смешные вещи, а игровой процесс может вызывать фрустрацию одновременно с желанием не прекращать попыток. В этом инди-проекте юзер управляет человеком, который сидит внутри картонной коробки. Протагонист хочет взобраться на гору, не покидая при этом ящик.
Геймплей в Boxman’s Struggle завязан на физике. Находящийся в коробке персонаж передвигается только благодаря прыжкам и управляется с помощью мышки (она позволяет задавать силу и направление рывка). Скала состоит из камней, гигантских картофелин, огромных товарных упаковок, дверей, лопат, ржавых машин, труб, дорожных знаков, разбитых музыкальных инструментов и прочего мусора. Цель состоит в том, чтобы узнать, что же находится на её вершине.
Тайтл взял за основу концепцию платформера Getting Over It with Bennett Foddy. Персонаж очень часто будет срываться и терять весь прогресс. Тогда пользователь будет вынужден начинать восхождение заново. Благодаря гравитации и дизайну уровня странный альпинист может поскользнуться на любом камешке, бутылке или шарике, после чего начать быстро падать вниз. Во-первых, сама гора здесь не такая уж и обычная – это футуристическая гора, состоящая из кучи секторов с разными пропастями, ущельями, помехами, и не только. Может даже показаться, что это самая настоящая гора мусора, ведь тут вам будут дорогу преграждать и баскетбольные кольца, и огромные вилки, и дорожные знаки, и огромнейшие гитары, и многое-многое другое. Во-вторых, еще и взбираться на эту гору вам придется, находясь в обычной коробке – согласитесь, даже звучит как-то странно.
Геймплей же тут завязан в первую очередь на физике. Одно неверное движение, и вы в соответствии с законами физики начнете кубарем катиться вниз. Причем, порою падения вас будут заставлять изрядно понервничать. Представьте, вы наконец-то практически дошли до контрольной точки, и вот, вдруг упали и покатились прямо к предыдущей. Тут нельзя не занервничать.
