I made mod that makes game and mainly guns more realistic. I’ve also added new skins and grenades from Back2Fronts mod (many thanks for this), new weapons and maps. I also have to thank Def and xMartineSx for support, help with tests and so on. Works only in Multiplayer. You don’t need other versions before this one. MCh2207Cz allowed me to use his skins. I hope you’ll like it!
Realism Pack 2.0 is coming

I can’t remember right now how pre-release version looked like, so I can’t name all the changes. These are those I am sure they’re new.

Call of Duty 2 стала настоящей легендой в истории шутеров. Вышедшая в 2005 году, она не устаёт удивлять своей красотой даже сейчас. Многие пользователи сети превозносят вторую часть CoD даже больше, чем все последующие шутеры. Естественно для этой игры было создано немало дополнительных кампаний и фанатских модов. И именно о них мы и собираемся рассказать.
Call of Duty 2 давно уже вошёл в историю как один из лучших шутеров XXI века. Если посмотреть на Moddb, то оценки у этой игры куда выше всех Блэк-Опсов вместе взятых. И это не удивительно, ведь CoD 2 был почти что первым шутером, который ввёл систему «исцеления в укрытии», навсегда избавив нас от этих растреклятых аптечек, которых всё время не хватало в старых играх.
Проект окунул нас сразу в 3 интереснейших кампании — Советскую, Британскую и Американскую. В Советской мы помогали отважным защитникам Родины оборонять Сталинград, в Британской сражались на полях Египта и Сирии, а в Американской освобождали от нацистских нелюдей Францию. Каждый эпизод кампании был сделан настолько качественно, что нам хотелось отыгрывать его ещё и ещё. Всё было сделано на наивысшем уровне. Многие до сих пор перепроходят игру с большим удовольствием.
Графика была для того периода уж слишком высокой и качественной. Даже если сейчас поставить старенькую «вторую Колду» на РС и поднять настройки до максимума, то мы просто поразимся насколько здесь всё детализировано. Анимация боя поистине реалистичная. Порою создаётся впечатление, что это вовсе не шутер, а какое-то интерактивное кино, в котором снимаются живые актёры.
Без сомнения, Call of Duty 2 имеет и хорошую базу модов, которые до сих пор продолжают делаться как западными так и российскими авторами. Стоит отметить, что последующие серии CoD были слишком ограничены в плане моддинга, а дальнейшие игры и вовсе лишены поддержки. Вот почему большинство современных моддеров предпочитают ваять именно на движке Call of Duty 2, чем на том же World at War.
УСТАНОВКА МОДОВ
Большинство модов на Call of Duty 2 ставятся в корневую директорию игры. Нет таких дополнений, которые бы активировались через специальные лаунчеры или программы. Если вы устанавливаете ту или иную модификацию, не забывайте сохранять бэкап оригинальной копии игры, иначе вы просто не сможете вернуться к оригиналу. Почти каждый проект ставится исключительно в корневую папку и заменяет множество оригинальных файлов, имейте ввиду. Тщательно прочитывайте инструкции по установке дополнений, чтобы избежать всевозможных казусов.

Realism Load Screens + Intro Dialogues for COD2 is a mod for Call of Duty 2, created by FeReise.
Description (in author’s own words):
Just another experimental work of mine, change some of the load screens, intro dialogues, in-game objectives, and menu dialogues to become more historically accurate by overall.
— New menu dialogues for these following missions: The End of the Beginning, Prisoners of War, The Crossroads, The Tiger, and Crossing the Rhine.
— New intro dialogue: Red Army Training, The End of the Beginning, Defending the Pointe, The Silo, Prisoners of War, The Crossroads, The Tiger, Rangers Lead The Way, and Crossing the Rhine.
— New in-game objectives dialogues: The End of the Beginning, Prisoners of War, and Crossing the Rhine.
— New load screens: Red Army Training, The End of the Beginning, The Silo, Prisoners of War, The Crossroads, The Tiger, The Brigade Box, Approaching Hill 400, Rangers Lead The Way, and Crossing the Rhine.
In addition, there is also a second version of this mod located in the ‘2nd Version’ folder (iwd file). It has almost the same detail with the 1st version, except there is no custom intro dialogue and load screen for ‘Rangers Lead The Way’ mission.
Moreover, this mod will become a part of the update version of jnoonfelt’s ‘The REALITY of War’ mod. And probably the update version of MCh2207Cz’s Back2Fronts Mod also (with a little modifying to make it suitable for the B2F mod).
To install this mod, just put either ‘zzz_newintro&loadscreens EDIT.iwd’ or ‘zzz_newintro&loadscreens EDIT2.iwd’ (2nd version) into the main folder of COD2.

Resuming Work on Mod + Possible German Mod
I have fully resumed work on the mod being a lone wolf this time. I have listed some the main objectives and highhlights of final release of the mod below. These can be subject to change due to limitations, historical aspect, or opinions
-no grenade danger icons
-no crosshairs
-realistic weapon loadouts and capacities
-3D scope overlays for all scoped weapons
-realistic uniforms and skins
-new weapons sounds and new weapon models
-realistic weapon handling
-no G43
-add weapon pickups like the Scoped SVT40 and MP40/I
-rebalance the AI loadouts, IE more riflemen vs submachine gunners
-add Russian AI carrying the DP28, MP40, and Kar98k
-add German AI carrying the PPSh41
-M1928 Thompson replaces regular Thompson
-remove fat german models
-no G43

-use M1 Thompson to supplement Sten

There is more to come as time elapses, but this is the bare minimum I have set.
Additionally, I toyed with the idea of creating a German mod, which would overhaul the entire game using real German Language, and changing all the subtitles to most accurately reflect what the Germans would be saying. It could be seen as an alternative history mod to Call of Duty 2. It wouldn’t be too difficult to do once this mod is complete, as I can use this mod as a base.
