Call of Duty 2 стала настоящей легендой в истории шутеров. Вышедшая в 2005 году, она не устаёт удивлять своей красотой даже сейчас. Многие пользователи сети превозносят вторую часть CoD даже больше, чем все последующие шутеры. Естественно для этой игры было создано немало дополнительных кампаний и фанатских модов. И именно о них мы и собираемся рассказать.
Call of Duty 2 давно уже вошёл в историю как один из лучших шутеров XXI века. Если посмотреть на Moddb, то оценки у этой игры куда выше всех Блэк-Опсов вместе взятых. И это не удивительно, ведь CoD 2 был почти что первым шутером, который ввёл систему «исцеления в укрытии», навсегда избавив нас от этих растреклятых аптечек, которых всё время не хватало в старых играх.
Проект окунул нас сразу в 3 интереснейших кампании — Советскую, Британскую и Американскую. В Советской мы помогали отважным защитникам Родины оборонять Сталинград, в Британской сражались на полях Египта и Сирии, а в Американской освобождали от нацистских нелюдей Францию. Каждый эпизод кампании был сделан настолько качественно, что нам хотелось отыгрывать его ещё и ещё. Всё было сделано на наивысшем уровне. Многие до сих пор перепроходят игру с большим удовольствием.
Графика была для того периода уж слишком высокой и качественной. Даже если сейчас поставить старенькую «вторую Колду» на РС и поднять настройки до максимума, то мы просто поразимся насколько здесь всё детализировано. Анимация боя поистине реалистичная. Порою создаётся впечатление, что это вовсе не шутер, а какое-то интерактивное кино, в котором снимаются живые актёры.
Без сомнения, Call of Duty 2 имеет и хорошую базу модов, которые до сих пор продолжают делаться как западными так и российскими авторами. Стоит отметить, что последующие серии CoD были слишком ограничены в плане моддинга, а дальнейшие игры и вовсе лишены поддержки. Вот почему большинство современных моддеров предпочитают ваять именно на движке Call of Duty 2, чем на том же World at War.
УСТАНОВКА МОДОВ
Большинство модов на Call of Duty 2 ставятся в корневую директорию игры. Нет таких дополнений, которые бы активировались через специальные лаунчеры или программы. Если вы устанавливаете ту или иную модификацию, не забывайте сохранять бэкап оригинальной копии игры, иначе вы просто не сможете вернуться к оригиналу. Почти каждый проект ставится исключительно в корневую папку и заменяет множество оригинальных файлов, имейте ввиду. Тщательно прочитывайте инструкции по установке дополнений, чтобы избежать всевозможных казусов.

Alright, a couple missions don’t have the proper swaps, but it seems Cliffhanger has it working properly. I like the detail of Soap having an SVD instead of a Mk.14, though his aim seems to be a bit off. Probably should’ve went another round in the killhouse, hooah?
Edit: It seems that the Ranger missions for the most part still need working on, with the tutorial mission, 1st actual mission, and Wolverines thus far do not have proper palette swaps as the Rangers are still, well, Rangers.
Got to Exodus and it seems like the swaps are working as intended now, even got a loadout swap with an AK and PP2000, which is a nice touch.
Oil rig level had it’s normal cutscene beginning, which is fair enough as there aren’t really Russian divers to begin with, and the initial M4A1 SOPMOD is a unique weapon just for the level so it’s understandable that it wouldn’t be swapped. Mission otherwise went as intended, friendlies swapping to the Russians and fighting enemy SEALs, which as it turns out are harder to spot in the urban environment and shade.
Onto the Gulag, again things work like the previous mission, however it’s kinda a bummer that the player doesn’t get a starting sniper rifle like the SVD or even a WA2000, but the AK given seems to be a special gun: It has a grenadier mount, which is normal, but using hand grenades like frags or stuns instead makes it look like we’re shooting from the tube, which is odd but otherwise kind of neat. Our secondary PP2000 doesn’t show up however, instead being the same AK but with a smaller magazine and faster movement speed. Weird, but otherwise okay.

Только в CoD: MW 2 мы сможем вести бои на снежных склонах, прокатиться на снегоходе и расстрелять соперников на открытой местности — в море или океане. Космическая задумка также реализована достаточно красочно и играбельно.
Разработчики сделали упор на кооперативный и многопользовательский режим, где каждый игрок заранее выбирает класс персонажа, выступает в голосовании за карту и потом начинает играть на открытой местности, где исполняет свои обязанности, а также старается выполнить задание на карте. Например, выживание — необходимо уничтожить как можно больше врагов за определенный период; захват территории — надо забраться на оккупированную врагом территорию и удержать её в течение времени.
В многопользовательский режим были добавлены ножи, щиты, дробовики, ракетницы и несколько новых пистолетов. Также была реализована тактическая высадка и специальное снаряжение.
Сюжет не такой захватывающий, как кооперативный и многопользовательский режим. Имран Захаев погиб, но его террористическая группировка продолжала жить. Она выиграла гражданскую войну в России. Однако на уровне правителей произошел раскол, и Владимир Макаров вновь создал небольшую террористическую группу, которая наносит удары по западным странам. Мы играем в подразделении Генерала Шепарда, организовавшего спецслужбу ОТГ-141, нацеленная на уничтожение Макарова.
