«Choose to play as either the last survivors or as the overwhelming zombies»
This is a mod that completely changes how the game is played, instead of two armies fighting each others, there is a new «survivors» faction that is fighting for survival against the new «Zombie» faction. Each faction has new and unique abilities that fits the corresponding factions.
And of course this mod has no vanilla units, only completely new ones.

well if you got any type f beta and you could lauch it i can actualy speak it stormless and TAW clan for some stream games and custum matchs ^^ im hype barley can wait ^^ hype hype brains brains
First of all, thank you for actively supporting this mod! Second, the beta will probably be released tomorrow or on Sunday, that means that the mod will be very unbalanced (or you should at least expect it to be. Who knows) when it first is released.
Also the «team» working on the mod is only me. Altough LittleBIT (creator of AOD) is making a custom «win condition» for the mod.

На этот раз разработчики решили не заморачиваться с сюжетом, наплевали на достоверность исторических событий, присущую данной игре, а пошли по давно накатанной схеме. Итак, по сюжету игры наступил очередной Апокалипсис (и как вы думаете где же это произошло?
Само собой, Company of Heroes зомби получила новых персонажей с абсолютно новыми возможностями. Также кардинально были переработаны и доктрины (что вполне логично, так как достаточно трудно представить себе традиционные доктрины Вермахта у армии нежити). Но интереснее всего то, что в модификации есть некоторые принципиально новые вещи, которые до сих пор совершенно не были представлены в оригинальных Company of Heroes. Так, разработчики как основательно переработали систему ресурсов, так и внедрили инфекции, заражение от которых также несет опасность для игрока.
Что же касается внешнего облика юнитов, то зомби-мод интересен тем, что в него уже внедрена система рандома. При старте игры персонажи получают случайные кепки, верхнюю одежду, сумки, и так далее, благодаря чему они выглядят нестандартно и уникально. Кому то это понравится, кого-то может возмутить, но, тем не менее, игровой процесс от этого стал более увлекательным, так как различные противники не так быстро надоедают.

ZombieMod offers many new exciting features such as:
FAQ Q: When can I play the mod? A: Patience is a virtue. Even the developers do not know when the mod will be released. We will announce the release well before, so don’t worry about that.
Q: What do I need to play? A: In addition to the requirements for regular Company of Heroes, ZombieMod requires either Opposing Fronts or Tales of Valor and the latest patch to play.
Q: What if I like other mods too? Can I have more than one mod installed? A: Of course, it’s easy to have several mods for Company of Heroes ready to go.
Q: Can you add another faction to the game? A: As of right now, we have no plans on adding additional factions to the mod.
Q: Can I use content from the mod in my mod? A: With permission from the development team and only after the mod is released to the public.
Q: Sounds cool, is there any way I can help? A: As of right now, we require dedicatedMAPPERS, TEXTURERS, and 3D MODELLERS. Later on we will require translators and beta testers.
February Update: The Company that Remains
It has been a long time since I have posted an update, and for that I am sorry. Unfortunately, the whole process of settling into real life has been a bit drawn out and slow, and I’m only now getting some time to resume modding. It’s a pain, and I’m sorry that I’ve made all of you wait, but I hope that you understand.
I have a relatively nice update for you today that touches on many aspects of the mod. Some of it is very exciting (in my opinion), while other parts are more conceptual or infrastructural, so they may not be that great. Anyway, without further ado, let’s get into it:
Infrastructural/Behind the Scenes:
The first part of this update concerns some infrastructural work we have been doing in order to make ZM development and the mod itself a bit better. The biggest area in this respect is work that VanAdrien has been doing with the UserInterface and optimization. Those of you who are familiar with his work will note his attention to detail and high quality work, but you may not be aware of his work in optimizing Company of Heroes, making it more powerful and more lightweight. This will allow ZM to be a smaller mod without sacrificing any playability!
Another key part of VanAdrien’s work is on cleaning out the mod. Currently, the mod is at 6.5 GB, of which approximately half is bloat, obsolete coding, or otherwise inefficient design. We expect the mod to release at a significantly smaller size than this, and VanAdrien’s work is key to this.
Lastly, we are making plans for a new website and internal subversion network, with which we can speed up development. This will allow us to have a repository copy of the mod which will be centralized, allowing everyone to contribute to development at the same time!
For the record, the team currently includes myself, Odysseus and VanAdrien, with occasional support from Aidas2, SirPsycho, TheSoldier, and a few others.
UserInterface and User Experience:
The next part of this update concerns some exciting work which you, the users, will interact with every time you play this mod. This is, of course, is the UserInterface, or UI, and the other experience components we are working on. VanAdrien is doing some amazing work as part of his optimization project in which he is creating a new UserInterface for the mod. It is a bit too early to show it ingame, but you can expect to see this very soon.
Another exciting piece of work coming from VanAdrien is a totally original soundtrack for the mod. More information will follow in upcoming updates!
Digital Art:
We have some exciting new models to show you this update, with some of them having huge significance to our development and to the CoH community, so without further ado, let’s get to some goodies:
The first model to show off will be made available to Survivor players using the International Doctrine: the Mi-8 Hip. One of the most popular helicopters employed by the United Nations, the Mi-8 is used in ZombieMod as part of a resupply and reinforcement ability. This ability allows you to remove squads from the battlefield and receive their resource cost in return, allowing you to exchange squads at critical moments in the battle. However, beware, as the helicopter does not come with armament, and is vulnerable while it is waiting for passengers!
The next model to show off is the rebirth of the Battlebus, one of the staples of the Survivor’s Civil Empowerment doctrine. This behemoth is meant to show the ingenuity and resourcefulness of the survivors, combining a school bus with excavator treads and a turret armed with anti-tank missiles. This combination allows survivors to transport squads to the front line and to deal hard blows to hardened enemies, buildings, or vehicles.
Of course, we have also been continuing work on small arms to fill out the roster. TheSoldier has been generous to work on military weaponry for us, while I have been working on civilian armaments. Be sure to check out the image section for more renders!
Finally, the part that you all have been waiting for (although you might not have known it yourselves): the first totally custom infantry model in ZombieMod. This represents a large leap forwards in our capabilities, as this shows that we are capable of creating character models which are purpose built for our mod, lower poly than the original models, and are more customizable. Furthermore, we will be able to randomize survivor models, leading to the impression of totally unique squads. More information on this is to come.
Maps, Balance, and Faction Concepts:
The last component of this update concerns some more gameplay related aspects of the development. We want ZombieMod to be a casually competitive game, with a great faction interplay like the original Company of Heroes’ Americans and Wehrmacht had. It is important to us that both compstompers and competitive players find something to love when playing our mod. For this reason, we have been vigorously refining our concepts, and have been working on developing a unique interplay between the Survivors and the Bandits. We have been working on implementing unique faction abilities, units and concepts which allow for diverse gameplay options, but are not too gimmicky or absurd so as to impact competitive play. To further this effort, we have temporarily halted development on the Zombies, because we want to ensure that the Survivors and the Bandits are as refined as possible before adding to the chaos. Furthermore, this allows us time to work on our character modelling and animation skills, so that we no longer have to use the default «unarmed» animation from vCoH.
An other important development is that we have also made selections for the original maps which will be in the first release of the mod. We chose some of the most popular and best used Company of Heroes maps, to supplement the list of custom maps we hope to have on release, as this will allow players to smoothly transition into the ZombieMod gameplay without being confused about map choices. We will provide more information on which maps we have chosen, and how we are converting them to fit the mod, in a later update.

We’re Making Progress!
Despite the radio silence, the mod progresses! Here’s some more info!
Company of Heroes 2 стала настоящим прорывом от THQ и компании Relic. Ведь первые части серии были посвящены исключительно западным силам, участвующим во Второй Мировой. Дополнения также повествовали о боях на Западном фронте. Ну а с выходом Company of Heroes 2 мы подробно узнали, что же именно происходило на нашей с вами Родине. Случилось то, что должно было быть с самого начала. Несомненно для второй части CoH существует и отличная база моддинга, и о некоторых известных проектах мы и поговорим в статье.
Первые части Company of Heroes были посвящены исключительно событиям Западного Фронта. Мы отважно сражались за США, высаживались в Нормандию и разбивали немцев по всей Европе. Потом нам дали возможность увидеть все события за Британскую империю, а также покомандовать силами нацистов. Вот только Советской кампании явно не хватало. Вышел, конечно, фанатский мод под названием Блицкриг, но всё-таки модификация есть модификация, а оригинальное дополнение — это уже нечто иное.
И вот уже в 2012 году мы наконец-таки дождались возможности поиграть за СССР. Первая версия Company of Heroes 2 как раз содержала единственную кампанию. И играть нам предстояло на Советский Союз. Нам позволили стать командующим Советской Красной армией и дали возможность освободить Россию-матушку от немецко-фашистских захватчиков. Начиналось всё с 1941 года, а заканчивалось самой осадой Берлина.
Нам дали возможность сражаться за Красную армию в разные периоды войны. Мы проходили с нашими бойцами от угрозы падения до великих побед на Восточном фронте. Мы вытаскивали советских солдат из окружения, отбивались от яростных атак под Ленинградом и Сталинградом, а потом дружно организовывали контратаки на немецкие позиции. В конце концов, мы побеждали зловредных фашистов и отсеивали их обратно в Германию. А потом мы уже прокатывались танковыми лавинами и по их земле.
Графика игры была заметно улучшена по сравнению со старыми версиями. Всё стало куда интереснее и реалистичнее. В плане геймплея появилось немного хардкора. В каких-то местах нам было поистине легко, но в некоторых мы застревали надолго. Особенно тяжёлыми были последние миссии, в которых нам приходилось угонять вражеские танки, устраивать диверсии и брать штурмом укреплённые цитадели. Конечно же не обошлось и без новых игровых функций, которые лучше видеть воочию.
После Советской кампании были выпущены всевозможные ДЛС, где опять вернули возможность поиграть за Британию и США. За британцев мы яростно сражались на просторах Франции и Германии, противостояли чудовищным силам Вермахта. А кампания «Арденнского наступления» за США дала настолько колоссальный хардкор, что многие буквально разбивали компьютеры от невиданной ярости. Арденнская кампания совершенно не щадит игрока, так как некоторые её особенности — едва ли не оскорбление со стороны разработчиков.
В остальном же Company of Heroes 2 считается довольно реалистичной и увлекательной игрой. Хотя, естественно, у данного проекта есть и яростные критики, в пух и прах разносящие весь геймплей. Некоторые миссии по ходу советской кампании можно было бы и не вставлять, дабы избежать конфликтов. Без сомнения, для CoH 2 было создано и немало фанатских модов, которые представлены в этой подборке.
УСТАНОВКА МОДОВ
Моды на Company of Heroes 2 устанавливаются только через Steam, соответственно и ссылки на их скачивание с Moddb страниц как правило ведут на Steam Community. По правде база моддинга для этой игры не так широко развита как для первых частей, но мы постарались представить как можно более известные проекты. Перед тем как устанавливать какой-либо мод, тщательно читайте инструкции. Для установки некоторых модов есть даже видео-туториалы, которые также можно найти на страницах Moddb.

—This mod can be played with any faction but OKW. -This mod is playable vs AI, but is a WIP -Please note that this is a BETA, so expect imbalances and bugs, but you can always help by commenting different bugs you find or ways to improve the mod! —Wehrmacht must always be positioned on team two, and Allies team one.
This mod changes the game into a «Survivor vs Zombies» type of game by adding: -New units (for example: Scavengers, Walkers. ) -New abilities (for example: Hide!, Sacrifice. ) -New buildings (for example: Power Generators, Stone Graves. ) -New upgrades (for example: Homemade PPSHs, Harder punch. ) -More realistic weapon accuracy and damage And of course everything new has custom artwork
(The Survivors faction is played by starting the game as Soviets or USF)
-As survivors you will start out with a small group of «Scavengers» and an «HQ truck». -Start by capturing a sector, then place the truck inside that sector and select the «Set up HQ» ability on the truck. This will create your HQ. -Now the Scavengers will be able to build a «Beacon» that can call in more powerful units and an «Engineer Squad». -The Engineer squad can create «Power Generators» that are required for more advanced buildings. -When playing as the Survivors, «Lost Survivors» will randomly find your camp and join your group of survivors.
How to win as survivors: Survive until the timer has reached 0. When you lose as survivors: You will lose when the Zombies has destroyed your HQ, so defend it at all cost!
(The Zombie faction is played by starting the game as Wehrmacht)
-From your HQ you will be able to summon «Walkers» and «Zombie Hordes», the Walker squad can create an «Unholy statue» that will unlock more powerful units, and an «Infected Mechanic». -The Infected Mechanic can create more buildings and defenses. -The Zombie faction also has a powerful late-game boss unit.
How to win as zombies: Destroy the enemy´s HQ. When you lose as zombies: When the timer has reached 0.
All updates (Changes, fixes e.t.c) will be posted in this steam-group. Here I will also be actively answering questions about the mod and about modding. So be sure to join the group!
