New Vision
Deus Ex есть что предложить с точки зрения сюжета и игрового процесса, однако графика никогда не была ее сильной стороной. Да что там, она не была особенно хороша даже на то время (2000 год).
Именно поэтому рекомендуем мод New Vision – это отличный способ обновить визуальную составляющую Deus Ex: он заменяет большинство дефолтных текстур на их аналоги более высокого качества. И это достаточно заметно!
Project HDTP
Project HDTP – еще один мод на графику для Deus Ex, который получился даже масштабнее New Vision. В случае с последним внимание уделяется улучшению игрового мира как такового, а вот в Project HDTP – на ретекстуризацию персонажей.
Отметим, что в то время игровые видеокарты не позволяли создавать текстуры с более высоким разрешением, поэтому любое улучшение – уже плюс.
Shifter
Мы уже улучшили графику, поэтому теперь нужно оживить Deus Ex в целом. Благо, есть множество способов сделать это!
Shifter – отличный вариант, поскольку мод вносит ряд улучшений в игровой процесс, которые просто необходимы! В качестве примера приведем заменяемые приращения: после установки мода вы сможете без проблем заменить, скажем, «нацеливание» на «улучшенное зрение».
Biomod
Если вам понравился Shifter, то рекомендуем установить его в паре с Biomod, который на самом деле был создан в качестве расширения для Shifter.
Главная его цель заключается в улучшении системы приращений. Кроме того, Biomod улучшает игру за счет добавления новых функций и доработки уже существующих. Основные элементы и история же при этом остаются нетронутыми.
Кроме того, навык «Плавание», который многие считают бесполезным, был заменен навыком «Легкая атлетика», который влияет на такие факторы, как бег, прыжки и само плавание.
HX – один из самых интересных модов списка. Он отлично подойдет тем, кто хотел бы поиграть в Deus Ex вместе с другом. Мы точно не знаем, как именно впишется кооперативный режим в Deus Ex, однако сама мысль достаточно интересна.
Идея, безусловно, хорошая, и есть только один способ проверить её на деле!
Soccer Mod
Если вы обожаете играть вместе с друзьями, то для Deus Ex есть мод на футбол! Да-да, именно так: Soccer Mod действительно позволяет поиграть в футбол в Deus Ex.
Это, конечно же, не имеет ничего общего с самой игрой, однако мы вынуждены оценить оригинальность и усилия моддера, благодаря чему его творение и попадает в наш список.
Malkavian Mod
Мод Malkavian уж точно подойдет тем, кто хочет немного отдохнуть от серьезности Deus Ex, но не желает при этом отклоняться от канона.
И он действительно очень смешной: вы встретите говорящего голубя, холодильник, а от драмы между Лампой и Черной Лампой и вовсе наворачиваются слёзы!
Давайте же вернемся к более серьезным вещам: в сообществе доступно множество модов, позволяющих расширить и даже изменить сюжетную линию игры.
2027 – яркий пример. По сути, это неофициальный приквел к игре. Здесь игроку предстоит пройти миссии в Париже и Москве в качестве наемника.
Сам мод придерживается оригинальной Deus Ex, как по стилю, так и по разнообразию геймплея, но также радует и различными дополнениями к стандартным функциям (управляемые боевые боты) и многим другим.
ZODIAC
ZODIAC – популярная кастомная кампания, в ходе которой игрок управляет Полом Дентоном. Здесь предстоит провести целое расследование причин, по которым президент США поставил страну на грань ядерной конфронтации, а также отправиться в штаб-квартиру ЦРУ в Лэнгли и раскрыть самые большие секреты правительства.
The Nameless Mod
Redsun 2020
Redsun 2020 переносит игроков на другой конец света – в Японию. В ходе компании вы оказываетесь в шкуре Джозефа, нового агента UNATCO, который был похищен и увезен в лабораторию организации TMG в Токио во время миссии в Восточной Азии.
Именно там с главным героем связывается робот REDSUN, который помогает Джозефу сбежать из лаборатории и понять цель своего похищения.
Отметим, что сюжетная линия очень интересная и держит в напряжении до самого конца! Моддеры постарались на славу, ведь Redsun 2020 имеет нелинейный сюжет с двумя разными концовками.
DXChallenge
DXChallenge не изменяет графику или персонажей, а просто делает игру сложнее. Мод добавляет различные задачи/испытания, которые необходимо выполнить на протяжении всей сюжетной кампании.
Например, вы можете выбрать прохождение без единого убийства (стелс режим) или без использования отмычек. Поверьте нам, это очень тяжело! Опытные игроки Deus Ex особенно оценят данный мод, поскольку провал любого выбранного испытания приведет к немедленной смерти героя.
Hotel Carone
Следующий мод представляет собой дополнительную миссию, события которой развиваются между вылетом Джей-Си из аэропорта Ла-Гуардия до его приземления в штабе UNATCO на Острове Свободы. По сюжету герой не убивает Лебедева в Боинге 747.

Overview: The Nameless Mod is the largest campaign mod for Deus Ex. It is quite unique, featuring a setting based around a Deus Ex forum, multiple brand new weapons, and fully voiced! It even gets updates to this day!

Overview: Nihilum takes place three years before the events of Deus Ex, with you playing as the first Nano-aug, uncovering your own conspiracy. This mod features locations such as Germany, Russia, and even the White House. It has new weapons, and is fully voiced.
Install & Playing: Nihilum has it’s own installer and desktop shortcut. Just simply run the installer, and play! https://www.moddb.com/mods/nihilum
Overview: You play as Paul Denton in a sidestory to Deus Ex. Taking place after JC has left Hong Kong, Paul uncovers his own conspiracy involving the CIA, The President, and aliens! It has no voice acting.
Install & Playing: Ok, so this is difficult for most people. There is an installer, run it. Afterwards, Create a shortcut of DeusEx.exe, Rightclick it and click on properties. Where it has the box called ‘Target’, Paste this:
«C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Deus Ex\System\DeusEx.exe» INI=Zodiac.ini USERINI=ZodiacUser.ini
(You may have to change the pathing if you installed steam elsewhere)
Open the shortcut, and click Play to start!
Overview: Redsun takes place in Japan. Play as Joseph as he breaks out of a lab and takes down the gangs of Otamachi-Ku. This has no voice acting.
Note: The mod replaces the map dx.dx and titlemusic.umx, so either back those up or just don’t extract them.
Install & Playing: Download the zip and unzip into the directories. Create a copy of DeusEx.exe, and rename it to Redsun2020.exe. It should now allow you to play.
If New Game just takes you to the vanilla game, Enable cheats (Press y or t, delete say, and type «set human bcheatsenabled true» without quotes, the type «legend» without quotes. Next, click on ‘load map’, then scroll down to 21_Intro1, and doubleclick it.)
Overview: 2027 takes place in, well, 2027. Play as Daniel, as he travels from Paris, to Russia, to Mount Weather in order to either join an AI or join the Omar. This mod features new weapons, hurt & death sounds, and ENB enhanced graphics. It has no voice acting.
Install & Playing: It has it’s own installer. Simply open it and run it from the desktop shortcut!
Overview: A short non-combat focused mod. Play as Peter, as he scrambles to search for cash in order to buy supplies for a party. Try to complete every objective!

Overview: In the dystopian future of San Francisco, nobody is safe. Try to survive in the hardest mod for Deus Ex, featuring several new skills, a crafting system, and heavy political commentary.
The mod creator has said before that this is like a large journalism project that surprisingly keeps coming more and more true.

Overview: Taking place shortly after the events of Deus Ex, Gary Savage has tracked down a remnant of MJ12, and has tasked JC to destroy it. Mutations features new mutated versions of Grays, Greasels, and Karkians. This has no voice acting.
Installing & Playing: This comes in a zip file with it’s own exe, no need for shortcut editing!

Overview: Additional missions set after LaGuardia Airport, implementing an alternate storyline where JC Denton stays loyal to UNATCO despite his brother’s warnings. This has no voice acting.

Overview: The so-called Meme Mod. Where quotes like «Paul, I thought you were a GEP Gun» comes from. Roam around Unatco HQ and a new Liberty Island map and interact with several characters from Deus Ex.
Installing & Playing: Simply unzip the contents, then open up ‘legend’ and open the map files.
Overview: A Polish horror mod. There is a translation, but it doesn’t cover everything and feels like it was run through google translate. Not even I have completed this mod, so if you’re up to the challenge, try this out.
Installing & Playing: Unzip the contents, create a shortcut of DeusEx.exe, rightclick it, click properties, and paste this where ‘target’ is:

Rating: Now, since I haven’t even completed it yet, I can’t give a full rating, but since it’s so confusing that I got stuck on the third map, it’s a 4/10 for me.

Overview: Invisible War Revised is a re-imagining of the Deus Ex sequel, Invisible War. It takes place in a more grounded universe. This mod is pretty linear compared to other mods on this list. With the help of some fellow modders, we were able to restore and fix this mod to it’s former glory!
