Version 1.4 released 2010-08-28.

The Community Ammunition Library (CALIBR) is an attempt to standardise the ammunition used by different weapon addons and modifications.
Two mods that add weapons in the same caliber will not otherwise be able to use each other ammunition (assuming they do not use existing FO3 ammunition), leading to conflicts or duplicated but incompatible ammunition.

An example: modder A adds the M14 rifle, which uses 7.62x51mm NATO ammunition. Modder B adds the FN FAL, which uses the same caliber.
Even though they are able to use the same bullets in the real world, in Fallout 3 they cannot.

The mod does not modify existing weapons, ammunition, or other aspects of the game, and if no CALIBR compatable mods are installed it will not affect the game at all. There should be no risk of conflicts with other mods, or official DLC’s.

Projectile data is roughly aligned with the standards used in Einherjrar’s 19th and 20th Century Weapons mod.

How do I install eXcalibr?

Open the download with 7 zip and extract the fomod file to your fallout3\FOMM\Mods folder.
Use FOMM’s package manager to install the FOMOD file. Go here for a FOMOD tutorial.

You can open the FOMOD file with any ziptool. If you do so, it is presumed that you know what you are doing.

The two files and two directories in green must be installed to your fallout3\data directory (same as every other mod you’ve ever installed).
Please familiarize yourself with file manager and 7zip if you are not already.

The xCALIBR_override.esp is optional and can be activated at the end of your load list to over-ride any mods that make ballistic changes.

How do I use eXcalibr?

After installation, some ammo boxes and magazines will be upgraded by default, but most of changes lie dormant until used. The full benefit of e X calibr requires use of GECK. Specifically, when you change the ammo type of a weapon, you can now also select the appropriate projectile data and shell casings. When building a cell, you can now populate it with a huge assortment of identifiable ammunition types. If you are building an armory, you NEED this mod!

A must have mod if you decorate your home. This lets you stack stuff without items floating, and lets you pack stuff tighter and make better piles of items. Also fixes items moving around without visually making contact.

After years of playing Fallout 3 this is the thing that bugs me the most about the game, objects floating over the surface of tables, shelves and other static objects. As well as objects moving around without visually making contact.

This is not a problem with Skyrim, and going back to Fallout 3 after playing Skyrim, I miss having the extra precise collision.

This mod will help fix that. I have reduced the size of the collision of 317 objects so far (the most common items) and will be working on almost all the movable items in game.

I also plan to make objects like shopping carts and barrels have usable empty space.

Also some items now have multiple collision meshes, like the combat shotgun for example.Because of this I can make the weapon have much more precise collision (see how you can hang a shotgun by its drumclip on a shopping cart in the images. This ALSO means that I can have different Sounds for each collision mesh.

So I plan to do this to the guns I give two or more collision meshes and are made of 2 different materials.

There are many great mods out there but they are often incompatibile or don’t fit togheter. The aim of this mod is to merge some of them, creating balanced content compatibile with XFO Fallout 3 Balance Overhaul. Why XFO? I find to be one of the best overhauls and use it myself 😉

Everything in this addon has been configured with XFO version 0.82b in mind and will cause no compatibility issues with it. Thus it is required to install XFO Fallout Ballance Overhaul. Mod should work without problems with both standalone and modular versions.

Six new weapons are added, two of them are unique ones. They are based on great community mods, see credits for list of their authors.

This mod tries not to interfere with other mods, so two unique weapons are added to vendor lists instead of being placed somewhere in the Wasteland. With XFO barter tweaks, it won’t be easy to buy them.

Desert Dragon is available to buy at Flak & Shrapnel when you reach level 8.
Wattz 3000 Laser Rifle is available to buy at Flak & Shrapnel when you reach level 10.

Two great mods are also integrated into this addon:

— Repair Rethought, with new content supported and compatibile with XFO.

It is recommended to use Falluot Mod Manager. If you don’t have it yet, be sure to get it.

1. Run Uninstall_addon_comp_for_xfo_0_1.exe which should be in your Fallout 3\Data\ folder.

Standalone mods which have been integrated into this pack will cause problems, so be sure to uninstall or uncheck them in FOMM.

Other incompatibilities may be caused by:
— Mods changing FormList entries (eg. repair tweaks).
— Mods changing LaveledItem lists.
— Mods changing Enclave soldier templates (I had to modify them so Enclave may use Wattz 2000).
— Mods changing T-51b Power Armor entries.

None at the moment. Let me know if you find any bugs.
