«Kept you waiting, huh?»
Slap that ENDORSE button if you like it!
I’ve been wanting to learn how to build a weapon for Fallout 4 from the ground-up for some time, and this is the result. This adds a high-quality Beretta M9/92FS («M9-FS») pistol to the game, featuring loads of colors, high-tech modifications, and unique legendary variants. It features all-new meshes, textures, and sounds for both player and NPC, including silencer sounds.
It’s balanced it to be viable from the early to late game. If you really like it, you should be able to keep it around as your main sidearm for most, if not all of your game.
Textures are a mix of 2K/1K/512 for specific parts, but highly optimized for visual acuity and performance (i.e. you won’t be waiting 2 seconds for the weapon to draw because the tiny trigger has a dedicated 4K texture and normal map.)
(For the firearm purists out there, this has the under-barrel shape of a 92FS, but with the M9 designation and engravings, which are much cooler.)
This currently uses the Deliverer animations, so it will use whatever replacers you might use.
★ ART CREDITS (MODELS/TEXTURES/SOUNDS)
Though I made all of the textures, and a handful of the models, some of the base models were purchased and modified, or used with permission from their talented creators (thank you!). This saved me some precious time, as the initial goal of this was a primary exercise in rigging up a raw weapon. Here are a full list of credits:
★ STATISTICS & IMPLEMENTATION
★ MODIFICATIONS & FEATURES
This comes with most standard mods you would see on any base game pistol, along with a few unique mods, and tons of options to customize the appearance and function. For example, the frame and grip color can be modified separately, making hundreds of combination options possible.
★ LEGENDARIES
There are 5 unique legendary variants with their own textures. Finding these legendaries will unlock its unique skin which can then be crafted on other guns.

About this mod
So I absolutely love Fading Signal’s Beretta mod, especially playing in Survival Mode. What I also love is customizing the heck out of everything. So, with Fading Signal’s much appreciated blessing, I present to you this mod. Thirteen frame options! Thirty-two grips, including two brand new materials! A labor of love, finally posted!

Author notes
You must ask Fading Signal for permission to use his assets first before asking me for permission to use mine. Once I have confirmation that he is okay with you modifying what he’s made, then I will likely extend permission for the modification of my own mod/usage of my mod in other mods.
File credits
Fading Signal for the original mod, including the normal and specular maps.
Fading Signal for the diffuse files I recolored for the frames and polymer grips.
The rest of the textures are from me, created via Substance Painter, GIMP, and/or Paint.net.

Version 0.0.1
This mod has two files in the main files. You only need to download one of them.
The Vortex button at the top of the page downloads the version that requires FadingSignal’s ESL version of his mod.
If you are using the ESP version of his mod, you’ll have to go directly to the files page to download that one.
As the brief overview says, and for those familiar with some of my other mods, I love customizing the crap out of everything.
So when I discovered Fading Signal’s wonderful Beretta mod and it quickly became indispensable in my survival playthrough, I was impressed with the options, but also wanted more. I’m addicted to purple. Don’t judge me.
One message to FadingSignal and a lot of blood, sweat, tears, and learning curves later, this is the result. I’m sure it’s not mind blowing, though if you like the mod and you endorse it, I’ll love you forever, but I’m satisfied with my results, so here they are. Will I add more options in the future? That remains to be seen.
This has been a learning experience. To be quite honest, I thought I would end up giving up on this mod when I first started.
I also thought I’d only come up with a few more options. Thirteen frames, thirty-two grips, and two new grip materials later, I clearly thought wrong. This definitely snowballed.
Angels rejoice, I learned Substance Painter.
I made a few textures in GIMP before discovering Substance Painter. Textures I thought I would end up tossing.
Surprise, surprise, they turned out great. So I’m keeping them.
Don’t like it? Fight me in the parking lot at dawn. Except please don’t fight me. I’m very fragile.
I even opened up the Creation Kit for the first time ever only for it to crash five minutes later. This thing has ba2 files. This thing has bgsm files. This thing has it all.
Okay, maybe not all, since I still don’t have a small loan of a million dollars, but a lot more than I could have ever imagined when I first started this labor of love.
I was originally going to upload pictures of every customization option, but I soon realized that would be a lot of pictures. A lot. So instead I have uploaded an example of each frame color, with a different grip for each to give you a basic overview of what to expect in the land of grips. A land far, far away. An entire download away. Pack your bags. We’re going on an adventure.
Plus a few bonus combinations at the end. Because it’s my mod page and I can.
Thirteen frames. Most, but not all, of which have a matching polymer grip. Yay, matchy, matchy!
Thirty-two grips. Including two new materials. Yes, I’m as shocked as you are.
This adds seven new polymer grips.
Thirteen marble grips, including the four I made in GIMP. They look good. Okay? And I have, like, no self esteem, so that’s saying a lot.
Five studded leather grips. Or leather grips with rivets. I’m a bit unsure of the technical term. All I know is it’s pretty. Or handsome. Take your pick. I don’t care. It’s *insert year.*
Seven vintage fabric grips. The closest you’ll get to this mod being lore friendly. Ignoring the Vault-Tec inspired frame and grip. Todd Howard demanded it. His word is law. There was nothing I could do about it. You will never escape Vault-Tec.
This is an ESL flagged ESP. You can sort it and it won’t take up a slot in your load order. You can thank my mod addiction for this. This should work with the ESP version of Fading Signal’s Beretta, but if not, please let me know, and I’ll see what I can do.
Compatibility patches available:
Please make sure you are downloading the right patch for the version of C-VWAS that you’re using, as the ESPs there are different and each patch will not work for the other version.
Both patches are compatible with either of the main files of my mod, as the ESPs here are the same.
Huge shoutout to Battousai124 for providing me with a copy of my mod that is compatible with the ESP version of FadingSignal’s mod. I admit I completely forgot there’s an ESP version of his mod. That’ll show you how much I prefer to use ESLs whenever possible.
Huge shoutouts to Death Octimus and Captain-Ultima for helping me troubleshoot my mod.
As always, if you like this mod, endorsements are very much appreciated. It’s a free way to let us mod creators know you like what we’ve made for you. It also helps us show up higher in the results when people filter by most endorsed files.
I would also really love some action shots of your customization combinations.
And if you want to throw a couple bucks my way, I do have a Ko-Fi account and donations are open on my profile page. No pressure, of course. My mod is still free to everyone, Todd Howard included.

This mod replaces vanilla 10mm pistols, gamma guns, or Deliverer pistols with fadingsignal’s Beretta M9-FS weapon mod. This mod uses the ESP version of the Beretta M9-FS mod. You must install the main file of the original mod as well as the optional ESP plugin.
All replaced weapons will be named «Beretta M9-FS» in game
This will model swap Piper’s companion weapon as well as the unique weapon «Wastelander’s Friend» into the Beretta M9-FS.
2. Make sure the both the ESL and ESP files for that mod are activated and all the assets from it are in your Fallout 4 data folder
3. Install this mod. Select the replacers you want in the installer and click finish
1. Uninstall the replacer, download the update, then re-install the mod
2. Load your save game. Any replaced weapons in your inventory may be broken. Scrap or get rid of them if they are broken and seek out new ones by adding them via console or finding them in the game world
3. If an NPC/Companion weapon is broken, you can individually update them by entering the console, selecting the NPC, and entering the «Resurrect» console command. You will have to do this one-by-one for each NPC.
If the NPC/Companion isn’t equipping their replaced weapon after the resurrect command, open the console, select them, then enter the «openactorcontainer 1» console command. You can use this console command to view their inventory and force them to equip their replaced weapon and ammo.
Simply uninstall with your mod manager, but remember: the golden rule of modding is not to uninstall anything mid-game. This mod makes data changes that may be irreversible, so you may have to load a previous save that hasn’t seen this mod.
This mod is compatible with mods that replace Deliverer animations, such as Deliverer Animation Replacer Pack by WarfightersWorkshop and Fiddler’s Deliverer Animation Replacer by FiddlerGreen
