About this mod
Modifies all interior cells giving them a realistic look. This mod aims to increase the immersion and creepiness of the fallout world, especially inside the vaults, caves and buildings. Lighting values are adjusted as well as the addition of lighting fixtures to the appropriate places where they were left out.

— Added all the huts to the Nellis Generator Power Grid. Lights will not work until the player completes the first stage of the Ant Misbehavin’ Quest.
— Cerulean Robotics: Added ambient lights.
— Power Substation: Fixed the light from windows not showing correctly.
Black Mountain:
— Storage Building
— Broadcast Building, 1st Floor
— Broadcast Building, 2nd Floor
Vault34:
— Changed placement of lights on radiation barrels in the entrance.
— Added brighter lights to the atrium, there are two bright lights on the ceiling.
— All ILO added lights in the vault will go out along with the vanilla lights if the player Seals external ventilation during the vault 34 quest. Main lighting not emergency lighting.
— Removed a bunch (LIKE A LOT!) of unnecessary light beams.
— Made sure that the lighting in Vault34b and c match up. These cells copy each other in places.
— Reduced the radius of some very large lights on the reactor level.
— Added light fixtures to the reactor room.
— Added a light to the overseers office.
Other Interiors:
— Removed a bunch of invisible lights from the Camp Guardian Caves.
— Follower’s Safehouse: Changed the light switches in here to better reflect the type of interior.
— Carlyle St. Clair’s House: Increased radius of a light.
— FNVIntSLHouse05 now has ILO lighting.

— Made some edits to the Nash Residence and Victors Shack in an attempt to fix a bug/glitch. Added COC markers.
— Adjusted some lighting values in the Nash Residence.
— Added «FXBrightSpotFlat» to all Floodlights, now they actually look like they are on. It has approx
25 occurrences throughout the game.
— Fixed a crash in the Camp Guardian Cave, fixed day/night ambient lighting at the cave entrance, and rest of cave. Added NVInteriorRegion to the Emittance list for sunlight bulbs. Removed phantom bulbs from the cave. WARNING this cave is very dark.
— Attempted to fix bugs in the Nellis Huts.
— Fixed some dirty edits that FNVEdit missed.
— Made some changes to Carlyle St. Clair’s House.

Most notably the Gomorrah Lower Brimstone, I have FINALLY fixed a Vanilla bug that has been plaguing this area for some time. You should now notice that the fire sconce lights now appear. This was fixed by setting the multibound reference to the room markers.

WHAT IS INTERIOR LIGHTING OVERHAUL?
ILO’s main purpose is to increase the immersion and creepiness of the Fallout world, especially inside the vaults, caves and ruined buildings.
WHAT DOES INTERIOR LIGHTING OVERHAUL DO EXACTLY?
The features of ILO can be broken down to three categories:
— Lighting values of most all lighting templates and image spaces have been adjusted.
— Changes have been made to every single interior cell in Fallout NV, Fallout 3, & DLC.
— Addition of lighting fixtures to the appropriate places where they were left out.
— Lighting color changes to both lights and fixtures.
VANILLA LIGHTING BUG FIXES:
— Poorly placed lights (Floating objects)
— Invisible lights (Lighting in areas that should be dark or have light fixtures)
— Bleeding lights (Lighting that is protruding through walls)
— Caves (No really, you cannot see your hand in front of your face in a pitch black cave)
— Think of Interior Lighting Overhaul as the Unofficial Patch for lighting!
— Light Switches (Mostly all residential interior cells (houses, hotels, and safe houses))
— Generators (Vanilla or otherwise) Power up lights in certain dark areas.
After 200 years of degradation some things just aren’t going to work, so don’t expect all light switches to work.

A: No you may not. However, you are encouraged to do so for personal use.

Q: Some of the interior areas look too dark.
A: I don’t have the intention of making buildings pitch black as I see it as unrealistic. At least that is the strategy that I am using now in developing ILO. It wasn’t that way when I first started the project, I’m still finding places that I lowered the ambient lighting way too much. Killergrimm and I have fixed most of these areas, however some were made intentionally dark (Caves).

Q: My game is still way to dark, what gives?
A: Adjust your monitor’s brightness and contest levels to what looks good to you, ALONG with the in-game settings. A Night vision mod is recommended (Advanced Recon Thermal Nightvision). Otherwise a ghoul might eat your face off.

Q: Why does light not bounce around interior spaces?
A: ld game engine is old (or lazy developers), not entirely sure on that one. Creating ambient lighting that looks good is incredibly hard on a game engine that doesn’t support dynamic lighting.

Q: Textures show up pink, wrong textures on objects, black skin textures, and then a CTD.
A: You have hit the mod limit,
A Nightkin reported that ILO was not working for him, It was later discovered that it was due simply to the fact he had smashed his keyboard over some courier’s head who tried to take his special Brahmin skull.
