Spider Boss
The Spider Boss, also known as Shelob, is a boss mob. It is hostile to the player, and all Vanilla Minecraft mobs. Having 650 health points (325 hearts), it is definitely not your average spider.
Contents
Location [ ]
Shelob spawns in the arena at the end of the level one section, as well as sometimes attempting to attack NPC villages.
Appearance [ ]
Shelob looks like a cave spider. However, its model is bigger and some of its legs are bigger than the others.
Combat [ ]
Shelob attacks by doing a foot-kicking animation, knocking the player back several blocks. If the player is too far away to attack with melee, it will use its ranged attack: throwing a greenish ball resembling poison that is unaffected by gravity at the player, causing Poison II for 10 seconds. It may also shoot a cobweb at the player, which functions like the spider hook, allowing it to pull the player towards itself. If fought in an area with a ceiling, Shelob will attach itself to the ceiling and attempt to snipe the player from above, making it difficult to fight without a proper ranged weapon. It hits between 9 and 20 damage with its front two legs. If Shelob is killed by means besides the player, such as drowning, it would not be counted as having hunted it, but the leather may still be used to purchase the armor.
Mecha Golems
‘Twas many, many, years ago when a Testificate first showed a Dwarf the secret of the Iron Golem, and history will never forget his reply; «Meh, Needs work.» The dwarf then disappeared into the Volcano that he had made his home and was not seen again for several weeks. (although several iron golems disappeared from the nearby village during that time.) When he came out, he came out in style. Riding high atop the first Mecha Golem. In each hand his fearsome creation bore a blade, crafted from pure diamond, and at the center of the great machine, sat the Dwarf himself, a Lever in each hand and a maniacal grin upon his face. No sooner had that Dwarf emerged from the great Mountain, than the other Dwarves began making attachments for the great machine. The attachments ranged from the practical Machine Gun, to the blazing Flamethrower. And even the Legendary weapon; the Bubble Cannon! The Mecha Golem has 100 health points (50 hearts). The Heavy version of the mecha has 140 health points (70 hearts). Both golems unequipped deal 3 health points (1 1/2 hearts).

These weapons are designed to be attached to the Mecha Golem:
Spawning [ ]

To spawn a Mecha Golem in Survival mode you need to build a T shape out of 4 iron blocks and then place the golem item on top and then the mech will appear.
In Creative mode you can simply right-click on the ground with the Mecha Golem spawn item and the mech will appear.

Usage [ ]
Sneak+Right Clicking on a Mecha Golem opens it’s GUI and right clicking the mech without sneaking will cause you to get in and mount the mech.
Mecha Golem GUI [ ]

Inside the Mecha Golem GUI you have many options.
You can tell the mech to «Join my team» or «leave my team», this allows you to act as the mech’s commander or not.
On the left you see an image of a mech with six slots on top of it. You can put weapons in the slots on the left and right and you can put upgrades in the four slots in the middle.
The grid area allows you to designate where the mech will stand in formation in relation to it’s commander.
The symbols to the right of the grid allow you to tell the mech what it should do when it is in battle.
The buttons on the right allow you to tell the mech what it should do when it is not in battle.
NPC Villages
Goblin Trader and an Orc Blacksmith in a Chocolate Quest NPC Village
NPC villages can be found in the world and they are inhabited by friendly NPCs, Non Player Characters. Unique items, armor and weapons can be found in these villages by interacting with the NPCs. For example you might interact with one NPC who sends you on a mission to defeat the Bull Boss. Upon killing the Bull you receive Bull Leather as a drop. You can then take the leather to a NPC Blacksmith and have him craft Bull Armor with it. You interact with the NPCs by pointing at them and right-clicking. A dialog box will open up.
NPC Villages only spawn very rarely, so you might go a long time without seeing any. Make sure not to hit or kill any of the friendly NPCs or else they will all become hostile towards you. You can tell the difference between a hostile and friendly NPC because the hostile NPC will immediately attack you.

Villages [ ]
Arena: [ ]

The Arena is different from most villages, as, insted of being full of friendly npcs who will help you out, it has a single npc who spawns powerful monsters for you to fight. It is also one of the only default dungeons to make use of dungeon bricks.

This Village is home to an innkeeper, a mount trader, and some mercenaries. Hire the Mercs with Emeralds, and buy Grog from the Innkeeper!
InquisitionVilla: [ ]

This little fort is home to some members of the Diruna Inquisition! Some light-knights from many different species. You can get everything inquisition from the shopkeepers, help the cartographer map the area, learn of the world’s ancient lore, help an Orc find his lost pants, or even hunt the terrible beasts of the night.
Market: [ ]

Here many peddlers sell their wares to any passerby. Not too much of interest here, but if you can snag an enchantment table, the witch will, in return for it, allow you access to advanced enchantment! Also features some guys who will sell Grog and food, some mercenaries, and a few other guys.
OrcVillage [ ]
WitchVilla: [ ]

The Witch Villa is also unique, in that the NPCs here are mostly hostile, unless you’ve sold some useful materials to the right lady. The Triton mage will send you on a quest to hunt down inquisition members, and sells you some nice stuff, like Skeleton slaves!
Other Villages: [ ]
There are also some Villages that were left unfinished in the DungeonLand world, that ArloTheEpic is finishing up as player-made dungeons.
There are also some pretty great Player-made Villages, check them out!
Chocolate Quest FAQ
Frequently asked questions with ArloTheEpic!
Contents
What is this mod? [ ]
This mod does not actually have anything to do with chocolate, contrary to what is suggested by the name. This mod makes various structures like castles, Nether cities, and pirate ships spawn around your world, filled with hostile mobs! Plus, some awesome NPCs, and great dungeon-crawling items like the Hookshot and the Cloud Boots.
Where do I download it? [ ]
There are downloads available on curseforge O.P.
I crashed. Save me! [ ]
If you are crashing, please post on the wiki the following:
1. What you were doing when the crash occurred. Even if all you did was start the game
2. copy//paste The crash message from the launcher into A SPOILER TAG.
3. (optional) also put in the log if you can, especially if you got no crash report. This also should be in a spoiler tag.
4. any additional information about the crash
also, remember that a few other issues are covered in later parts of the F.A.Q.
Is this mod dead? [ ]
Most likely. Chocolatin has not been seen in almost 4 years so it’s very likely he’s not coming back to work on the mod ever again. However a team of people led by ArloTheEpic have been working to recreate chocolate quest on 1.12 under the name CQR.
Crash while entering/exploring the end? [ ]
¿El juego se cierra al entrar / explorar el The End? [ ]
NPCs won’t tell me the cost of items they’re selling me! [ ]
Remove the mod ‘Not Enough Items’ and see if the issue persists.
The rendering of items that NPCs ask for is different now, so this should no longer be an issue.
Fix this! Add that! [ ]
While we welcome suggestions, note that I myself do not in fact have any control over the mods’ future path, and Chocolatin (the mods’ author) already has plenty to do with his time, and can usually counter your suggestion with a better one. He’s also known to sometimes not show his face here for months at a time, so you may need to wait a little bit.
Update: Chocolatin has been gone for almost 4 years so he may never be coming back.
Mob spawners in your dungeons are empty, and don’t spawn anything [ ]
You’re on creative mode. Try survival.
It’s important for the single-use spawners not to activate while creative players are near them, so that players making dungeons can use the single-use spawners.
I’m sorry, did you just say I could MAKE MY OWN DUNGEONS. [ ]
why yes, my astute reader! I did! You can make dungeons, then export them with the exporter block, then put the files online for others to enjoy! We recommend putting the dungeons you make here (http://chocolatequest.wikia.com/wiki/Player-Made_Dungeons) so that people can download them at will! To learn more check out the Dungeon Exporting Guide, the Dungeon Configuration Article, the NPC article and the Advanced Dialogs Tutorial.
When will the next release come out? [ ]
Update: In terms of being released by Chocolatin, Never.
Getting a crash while using the ‘cave-test.prop’ item or ‘Test-test.prop’ [ ]
Test-test.prop and Cave-cave.prop may crash the game if the ‘test’ folder is empty, you need to export something, or download someone else’s dungeon, and then it will spawn when you use that item, as well as all around the world.
Is there anything I should know before posting on the Forum? [ ]
Yes, make sure to read at least 2 pages back before posting, as often you’ll answer your own question. All of us problem-solving commenters reserve the right to be excessively rude at random moments with little to no provocation. We would like to discourage swearing, advertising, and random acts of hate however.
Update: The forum post has been deleted since 2019 however these rules for posting something on the wiki can apply here instead.
The crafting recipes won’t work! [ ]
Incidently, there are no crafting recipes! In older versions of the mod, some items were craftable, but in the current version, no items can be crafted. There are 4 main ways to get the items in the mod.
I can’t complete a quest, even though I did what I was supposed to! [ ]
Another known bug. Unfortunately, we don’t really have a workaround for this.
Any more regular crashes you’re gonna talk about here? [ ]
People have brought to us numerous crashes where they used chocolate quest for the wrong version of Minecraft. (eg. 1.7.2 on 1.7.10) Don’t be that person. It’s embarrassing to everyone involved.
Modpack? [ ]
Yes you can put the mod in your mod pack. We may not even always respond if you ask.
Note that if you cannot use a recent version of the mod due to use of a modpack, we can’t help. The most recent version of the mod is always for the most recent version of Minecraft.
Update: The mod won’t go beyond 1.7.10 due to Chocolatin’s absence for 4 years.
I have a crash, and I’m not running the most recent version. [ ]
Try running the most recent version and see if that helps. If it doesn’t, then post about it. We are not interested in responding to issues with outdated versions of the mod, as many of them were fixed in later updates.
Some of the names of these dungeons include Minecraft usernames, why? [ ]
Those are dungeons that were made by users! That’s right, give your dungeon files to Chocolatin, with full permission to both use them and make small changes to them, and if he likes your build, Chocolatin will put your dungeon right into the mod! People won’t even need to get it externally!
