As 1936 dawns, the Weltkrieg’s legacy lies heavy upon the shoulders of a new generation.
Germany stands astride the center of the world, a power without peer, but about its feet lie enemies both old and new; from France’s rising syndicalist Internationale, to the old Entente, to an unbroken Russia and an unrepentant rising sun. All the while Germany’s vast reach has left it dangerously overstretched, its allies in Constantinople and Vienna have grown estranged, and across the Atlantic the American colossus falters. Seventeen years have passed since the end of the war, and few expect the new year to bring a turning point, but soon a single spark may be all it takes to light the powder keg anew.
The Kaiserreich 4 Team are proud to present the most popular alternate history mod for Hearts of Iron II, Darkest Hour, and Hearts of Iron IV! Originally conceived by Sarmatia in 2005, Kaiserreich has since developed into one of the most in-depth alternate history mods, with thousands of unique events, graphics, countries and even mechanics! Rewrite history (again), but this time in Hearts of Iron IV!
Starting with HoI4 1.8, Paradox updated its official launcher, and unfortunately that’s caused a lot of issues for mod users. If you’re having trouble loading the mod, being told ‘descriptor file missing’ or that KR is out of date, chances are you need to troubleshoot your launcher. Kaiserreich for Hearts of Iron IV is still in early development so there will be bugs, please report any you find here: https://github.com/Kaiserreich/Kaiserreich-4/issues
Please don’t report them anywhere else, it makes our lives much easier when all bug reports are in one place. Make sure to give as much detail as possible and to double check no-one has reported your issue already.

Kaiserredux: A Kaiserreich Expansion

Kaiserredux is an expansion for the popular hoi4 mod, Kaiserreich. The goal of Kaiserredux is to bring together submods that share the same common goal, expanding the content of Kaiserreich with an emphasis on fun and interesting scenarios over realism/grounded lore. We wish to avoid removing content or changing the existing lore too drastically in order to maintain the great gameplay and in depth lore that made Kaiserreich so popular in the first place. This is not an overhaul but rather an expansion.
An «expansion» means that while we are not a sub-mod, and thus shouldn’t be run together, we take certain aspects of Kaiserreich and add/change content, e.g. USA. We do not take every bit of KR and build on top of it, rather we augment it ourselves.
KX credits the Kaiserreich devs for their work in GFX, localisation, focus trees, and all other manners that are not KX-exclusive. Thank you to the KR devs for these works, foundations, and by extension for coexistence with KX.
