Background
The Jump Boost effect is a status effect that lets you jump higher in the game.
But remember that the higher you jump, the farther you fall to the ground. So if you give yourself Jump Boost using the /effect command, you might find that you take fall damage each time after jumping.
There are levels of Jump Boost such as Jump Boost II, Jump Boost III, Jump Boost IV and so on. The higher the level of Jump Boost, the higher you will be able to jump in the game.

When you have the Jump Boost effect, the following icon will appear in the top right corner of your screen (in older versions of Minecraft, the effect icons only appears when you are viewing the inventory menu):
You will also see particle effects floating around you. In the latest version of Minecraft, these particle effects will be a bright green.
When the Jump Boost effect wears off, the icon and particle effects will disappear. You will be back to your normal status.
Duration
Depending on how you get the effect, the duration of the Jump Boost effect will be different. To see how much time is remaining for the effect, go to your inventory menu.
In this example, it says 4:30 under Jump Boost so this means that there is 4 minutes and 30 seconds remaining of the Jump Boost effect.
Items that give the Jump Boost Effect
The following are items that give the Jump Boost effect in Minecraft:
Jumping
Jumping is a mechanic that elevates the player 1 1 ⁄4 block into the air. It also has other effects when combined with another forms of movement.
Contents
Mechanic [ ]
Activation [ ]
Jumping is done by pressing the jump key (which defaults to the space bar on PC) or the jump button on other devices (for example the ‘A’ button on Xbox). If auto-jump is on the player jumps whenever they brush up against the edge of a block.
Usage [ ]
Jumping normally lets the player climb up 1 1 ⁄4 block. Players with Jump Boost I are able to jump 1 15 ⁄16 block, and with Jump Boost II they are able to jump 2 1 ⁄2 blocks. The effect also increases more with more levels of Jump Boost.
Honey blocks make players jump 3 ⁄16 of a block from them, meaning that they get an 85% jumping reduction.
Cobwebs and sweet berry bushes prevent players from jumping from them.
Sneaking and crawling, when activated by suffocation prevention in Java Edition, prevent players from jumping due to the reduced space. These two actions normally do not prevent players from jumping.
Jumping can be combined with sprinting to increase the player’s movement speed. A single jump while sprinting costs four times as much hunger as a normal jump.
Most land-based mobs are able to jump when they are walking up blocks. However, they do not jump spontaneously, except in these cases:
These mobs are able to walk up full-sized blocks without jumping:
Flying mobs (ghasts, phantoms, etc.) and water mobs (except turtles) do not jump.

Comments
I think about making presets for a group (with permissions like JumpBoost.pre1, JumpBoost.pre2. )
I was previously settings different group heights per permissions group. How do I go about doing this with the latest update?
Hey, Now you can set your jumpboost level, i’m planning to add a cooldown (temporary, i use weakness effect) i’m also planning to let you set the time of jumpboost seconds, now it it 1 second, you have to jump instant after sneak, but it will change in the next 2 weeks
Just accept my friend request now 🙂 Thanks, Eero
Hey Eero911, i’ve read your source code of the plugin, and i edited it a bit on my own. I’ve added some features:
Here you get the jar file; ask me via skype for the code.
The Jump Boost status effect in Minecraft explained
Minecraft players who have the Jump Boost status effect can jump higher than normal and take reduced fall damage.
Jumping is an activity that Minecraft players will need to do at some point while playing the game, whether that be intentionally with parkour or as a necessity to navigate the terrain.
Under normal conditions, the maximum height that players can jump is one and a quart blocks. However, players can imbue themselves with the status effect known as Jump Boost to increase their jumping ability by 50% per power level of the effect.
The Jump Boost status effect can be obtained via Potions of Leaping, Arrows of Leaping, Beacons, and specific batches of Suspicious Stew.
This article breaks down how the Jump Boost status effect works in Minecraft and discusses the few ways that players can obtain it.
The Jump Boost status effect in Minecraft explained
The Jump Boost status effect can be obtained in-game by four main methods: Potions of Leapings, Arrows of Leaping, Beacons, and specific batches of Suspicious Stew.
Potions of Leaping and Arrows of Leaping are incredibly similar, as crafting one of these special arrows requires the potion, to begin with. The only major difference between the two is how the status effect is delivered to the player.
With a Potion of Leaping, the drink is consumed, while an Arrow of Leaping grants the effect to an entity that is shot with it.
A Potion of Leaping can be brewed up at a brewing stand that is powered by blaze powder by combining a water bottle, nether wart, and rabbit’s foot.
A Potion of Leaping II, which is 50% more effective than its predecessor, can be crafted by adding some glowstone dust to a Potion of Leaping at a brewing stand.
A full guide on how to craft and empower a beacon in Minecraft can be found here.
Suspicious Stew that grants the Jump Boost power effect must be made with Cornflower, bought from an expert level farmer villager, or found inside of supply chest in a shipwreck.
Under normal conditions, Minecraft players can get up to two power levels of the Jump Boost power effect. A Potion of Leaping will increase the height that a Minecraft player can jump to 1 13/16 blocks, while a Potion of Leaping II will increase jumping height to 2 1/2 blocks.
Each level of Jump Boost increases the maximum height that the player can jump by fifty percent.
Surpassing Jump Boost II is going to require the use of console commands. Minecraft players should note that increasing their jumping capability with this method can cause some interesting interactions in-game.
For example, Minecraft players who boost their Jump Boost status effect to level 34 will instantly die when they land back on the ground after jumping.
