Hi,author:
I am confused!I should to download which one?on the top,
Q1:there are 2 files:
A)Main files Enhanced_Textures 1.6G v1.05 B)Enhanced_Textures_1024 838.1MB v1.05.
emm,I guess,A=B. but B is «low-quality texture A»?
Q2: If i have downloaded A) or B). do I need still down the C) «Enhanced Textures Buildings Materials» 227.3NB v1.02?
Please make a 512 version for us.
I don’t care it’s clear or sharp.clour is enough!
Did you even read what I wrote to you? It wasn’t a filler. Please. Just try to overwrite with your main file. It’s all I ask. You’ll understand that I’m not lying.
Sorry, I just have no one to talk to, don’t hate me, please. But yeah, your mod is definitely is a snake oil. It takes up the place, but doesn’t do anything.
Also, Kenshi is not Skyrim.
And if you’ll still continue to say that this mod is viable, well. okay. I can’t do anything about it anyway.
But I can yap, can’t I? So. Here’s the deal, muh dudes. This mod is a hoax. Probably not intentionally. But while the author denies logic, it will remain so.
It seems only the «newland»* folder did not load, it contains nearly all of the land textures and plants.
However, the game is clever enough to load the original textures, if it cannot load the modded ones.
This leaves nearly all the items, buildings, walls, characters and more to be updated by the mod.
I uploaded a smaller file now and will investigate with the «nealand» textures, only thing changed is the file size.
p.s. the way you report issues is unbelievable strange and offensive!
*or lets say most of them again.
There is a workaround.
Open the file resources.cfg in the main kenshi folder in a text editor.
Under [General], above the newland entries, add your folders with custom textures. It should look like so:
FileSystem=./mods/Enhanced_Textures/newland/Assets/Rocks
FileSystem=./mods/Enhanced_Textures/newland/Assets/Things
FileSystem=./mods/Enhanced_Textures/newland/Assets/Textures
FileSystem=./mods/Enhanced_Textures/newland/Assets/Buildings
FileSystem=./data/newland/Assets/Rocks
FileSystem=./data/newland/Assets/Things
FileSystem=./data/newland/Assets/Textures
FileSystem=./data/newland/Assets/Buildings
And under [foliage]
FileSystem=./mods/Enhanced_Textures/newland/Assets/Plants
FileSystem=./data/newland/Assets/Plants
There is no resource for land :/
This at least makes the game load the textures.
p.s. or maybe I will /flex
After updating all «Desert» parts with the new folder path in FCS and added a new entry FileSystem=./mods/Enhanced_Textures/newland/land/textures
under [landscape]

Left is without mod and right is with mod. Both with SSAO mod, though.
p.s. don’t worry, this is what modding is. Finding out how things work and try to get your stuff in there 😛
I did try a few. Thing is, the game is extremely clever and robust.
I edited several biome for swamp and boneland, desert as well in FCS. Not all!
Loading the game with the mod does certainly look different. But then I wanted to test and renamed the whole newland folder within the mod. The original textures loaded again ^^
Using a mod to replace textures to manipulate the game is certainly better than replacing game files. If the game cannot load something, it takes the original.
And I noticed it does not apply any lighting if my textures are loaded this way, means no bump map is used 🙁 So I give up on this, looks worse than the original.
I did not extra compress the original textures, they were already compressed, after my manipulation I only reburned the mipmaps or it would be black in a distance. But also the 1024 are fine, outside newland.
For me the nights were too bright, they are now nearly twice as dark but not pitch black (0.35->0.6).
I had the sun sting my eyes in the desert during the day (0.8->0.9).
Higher values make the world appear darker.

I love Kenshi. It’s like comfort food, in a game. Its story is unique; it tells its narrative not just through dialogue, but through a vast, unforgiving landscape, littered with pieces of the past. It’s a beautiful world, full of wonder and mystery, its history scattered far and wide across its sun-baked, ill-fated expanses.
But as one dude in a comments section put it,
Well, no more.
» Kenshi Enhanced « is a ReShade 4.0 mod, designed to make Kenshi really shine. It’s meant to take the natural beauty of this game and really bring it to life. My intention here is to enhance the overall look and feel, without changing so much that it isn’t recognizable; if I’ve done my job right, you’ll walk away saying «wow, that looks x1000 times better.» The Kenshi we know and love, but pretty.
It is going to be graphically intensive. But, I will be including several different presets of this mod, each with their own specially tweaked and optimized settings. I can’t promise your computer won’t go up in a flaming pyre to the Old Gods, but I’m working on getting it playable for everyone from 1060/laptop users to rtx 3080 PC-titans.
Since this is in a BETA state, there will be some bugs. Make good use of the Bugs/Forum tabs to let me know what you find.
Manually download. Installing with mod manager will break the mod.
1. Pick which UI you want (Vanilla, DarkUI, DarkUI Retextured)
2. Download that version
3. Extract all contents
4. Open the extracted folder
5. Copy/paste all contents into your main Kenshi directory on Steam (where your «data,» «save,» «locale,» etc folders are). All contents should be alongside these folders (not in them).
When you’re finished, you should have the following files in your main Kenshi Directory:
There you go, all set. Now let’s get to a list of what this mod does.
1. 3 presets, «Full,» «Performance,» and «Speed.»
2. Toggle-able effects, bound to keyboard numpad. If you have performance issues with a particular preset, make sure you didn’t accidentally toggle something on/off!
3. Key-bound commands for the ReShade program.
4. Really good looks.
Each preset needs tuning. I made my best guess and went with it, so if you have trouble with the presets, let me know and I will adjust them. Your feedback = good stuff.
Key for Toggle-able Effects :
*Performance heavy effects.
Key for ReShade Commands :
1. The UIDetect feature sometimes activates when it’s not supposed to. This will look like a lightning-quick on-screen flash. Tricky to fix, but adding more pixels to UIDetect’s code will probably eliminate this issue, or at least make it almost un-noticable.
2. The UI Mask that protects your main UI sometimes un-syncs. Seems to be on game reload after quitting with the main UI off. Good news is, you can fix this simply by opening up the ReShade menu, and clicking it back on to re-sync it.
3. Auto-Color Correction feature bugs out and shifts color hue all over the place. I’m not sure how to stop this, let me know if you know. This feature works great when it does though!
Specs : Unknown. Test it out with your setup to help me figure this out!
Crosire, Marty McFly, CeeJayDK, and all the team for the amazing ReShade
