This guide will aim to explain as many parts of modding Motorsport Manager as possible, to allow players to create their own mods in the easiest and most time effective way possible.
This guide will look at:
1. Using Unity
2. Editing the games database
3. Creating Images for mods
4. Creating Videos for mods
5. Creating Custom Models for Mods
6. Anything else which is forgotten or requested
Motorsport Manager was developed on a programme called Unity, and thus modding Motorsport Manager requires the use of Unity. Whilst this guide may seem long, a lot of it is first-time set up related, and once you have done it a few time it will be no problem at all.
Since the game was made in 2016, an older version of Unity was used, and will need to be downloaded. Unity is free to use from their website:
Once Unity is installed, open it up and then we will need to install the Motorsport Manager package from which we will edit the game.
The mod package will then import (which may take some time depending on your computer). Once installed, new folders will appear.
From here you can go about changing anything for your mod. As such, details such as «AssetBundles» will be covered on their individual guides, rather than on this introductionary guide so as to avoid unecessary confusion.
Editing the game’s database is the simplest part of modding motorsport manager, but can also be full of trials and possible errors.
A few things should be explained further:
Each new category (First Name, Last Name, Gender, Team etc.) will be represented by a «,» after its respective text. Multiple instances will be followed by a «;». For instance, if a driver has more than one trait it will look like «X; X; X».
Years: Since Motorsport Manager was released in 2016, you can’t have a player start a contract later than this date, as the game won’t be able to make sense of it.

The F1 Manager 2020 mod has now been updated to fix several errors and bugs. Among the fixes are:
— Fixed reliability to reduce rapid engine wear
— Sponsors and finances are beefed up to help players
When using this mod, I would recommend using the Extended Camera mod by newman55. A link for installing this is listed below:
For the update to come into effect, you will need to update the assembly c sharp and resource assets files only.
The previous version of the mod is included in the mods files under F1 Manager 2020 V.01. Therefore if you want to continue to play this version you can do.
This mod allows players to step into the real-life world of motorsport management in 2020. Take control of real teams, with real drivers, sponsors and team personnel. F1 Manager 2020 includes:
— Real teams from F1, F2, F3, IndyCar, Formula E and the World Endurance Championship
— High-texture car models for all of these series
— Real images for teams, drivers, personnel and sponsors. Changes to track markers are also included.
— Over 330 real life sponsors
— Real names of over 70 tracks
— New personality traits, media reports, interview questions and race reports.
F1 Manager 2020 requires additional installation steps beyond the usual ‘subscribe’ button.
— At steam/steamapps/workshop/content/415200 is the steam workshop folder for Motorsport Manager.
— Inside the folder for this mod is another subfolder called Extras. Inside here is the F1 2020 Manager guide which describes the installation process. Essentially:
— Replace the AssemblyC-Sharp, Resource ASSETS and SharedAssets files which are located in the Motorsport Manager game files with the ones inside the Extras folder.
