Итак, многие проводят часы, ковыряя редактор персонажа, подбирая оптимальный билд, класс, стратегию развития. Всё это умно, сложно, интересно, ведь собираем мы в поход героя с которым при хорошем раскладе проведём часов 100, превращая заурядного наемника в могучего воина, мудрого мага или великого Похитителя Колбасы, ну то по обстоятельствам.
Но всегда волновал меня еще и эстетический момент: рожу лицо главного героя с вариациями мы будем созерцать на протяжении всей этой самой игры. Поэтому неплохо было бы её его облагородить. Привести, так сказать, в соответствие внутреннее содержание и внешнюю форму.
Поэтому, закачав очередной супир-мега-пак партретаф для Паффейндера я засучил рукава и взялся за дело сам.
На случай если за 6 месяцев с момента релиза кто-то еще не знает как добавлять портрет в игру.
Начинаем игру. Создаём нового персонажа
В появившемся окне выбора портрета нажимаем иконочку под портретами
Нажимаем кнопку «Открыть папку портретов»
Игра свернётся и в проводнике откроется папка. В нее нужно положить три файла:
Возвращаемся в игру. Нажимаем кнопку «Обновить портрет» Если не накосячили с разрешением, расширением и картинкой то увидим портрет персонажа.
Папка портретов скрытая и создаётся при создании наёмников и главных героев. Здесь есть несколько глюков и узких мест.
2) Чтобы не плодить пустые папки рекомендую переодически удалять «дефолтные» папки, содержащие дефолтную заглушку.
3) при помощи стрелочек можно переключаться между содержимым папок портретов, ранее уже созданных. Их использование не отменит создание дефолтной папки, но сэкономит немного времени при переигровке\ребилде\респеке.
4) не создавайте двух наёмников подряд. Папка портретов у них будет одна. Чтобы «развести» её можно зайти-выйти из локации или сохранить-загрузить быстрый сейв.
Вроде всё просто, не так ли?
Есть тут засады следующего толку.
Не попадание хотя бы по одному признаку не фатально, но два признака выбивают мне погружение просто наглухо.
Недостатки
1) только люди и эльфы. Можно собрать аазимара.
2) Персонажи ограничены в позах и оружии.
3) Это игра, а не визуал-студия. Либо нет фона, либо нет выбора костюмов, либо нет выбора физиономий. Всё делается внутренними инструментами и проблемы таких охреневших как я их не волнует.
Скорее всего в различных играх последних лет можно надёргать скринов и видов. У BDO просто лучший редактор персонажей из тех которые я видел.
Сделано по схожей методике, только уже из 8к скрина внутриигрового. Недостатки те же, только фон уже глаз радует, хотя чёткость по прежнему очень высока, дальше только косплееров с фотографий резать на портреты.(несколько двусмысленно прозвучало).
Делайте хорошие портреты и не делайте плохие.
С этими наставлениями я немного запоздал и самое онное руководство не более чем выплёскивание остатков зла творческого на людей.
Самое обидное в том, что каждый новый портрет получается быстрее, режется чище и выглядит адекватнее. А папка получилась большая. И где граница плохое-хорошее теперь искать нужно.
Во время написания руководства ни одна картинка не пострадала.

I just made a collection of high quality portraits from various artist at deviantart that i follow, for my playtrough. This is now also on the Nexus called «Heroes of Stolen Lands».
Keep in mind those are the medium pictures, every portrait has 3 sizes with different framings. Example: https://imgur.com/a/D808gL9
If you already use custom portraits you will have an «portraits» folder. You can also manually collect the portraits you want to install, just drag&drop them into your portrait folder.

If you see something new, time to update 😉
Use the little «custom portraits» icon under the offical portraits in the character creation.
Keep in Mind:
Everytime you go to the custom portraits ingame, it creates a default folder with a random number. Everytime you click on the «+» icon at the end of the navigation you create a new default folder.
Enjoy! Maybe i will update this later on, but you can do this by yourself!

Heroes of Stolen Lands 
I just made a collection of 377+ high quality portraits from various artist at deviantart that i follow, for my playtrough and roleplaying.
I also edited most pictures to get an overall similar style, but by no means is it possible to match the original art style all the time. I also tried to be lore friendly, but i also added some exotic portraits somewhat out of the pathfinder universe, just to give you more options. Since this is a huge collection you should manage the «Portraits» folder by your liking. Feel free to tell me what you don’t like or what you are using.
Installation
Extract the zip file into the following path:
In Windows use the Hotkey: «Win+R» copy and paste:
%userprofile%\AppData\LocalLow\Owlcat Games\Pathfinder Kingmaker\Portraits
If you dont have a Portraits folder, just create one.
How to use
Use the little «custom portraits» icon under the offical portraits in the character creation.
Thats it, enjoy! Maybe i will update this later on, but you can do this by yourself!

F: Is this working for hiring custom companions aswell and where can I hire custom companions?
A: Yes, you have to progress in the story a little bit until you reach Olegs Trading Outpost.
F: Is there a way to respec my characters and to also change portraits?
A: Yes, use this tool from Deevian. He gives Support on Steam. Or: Respecialization from newman55
F: The game keeps adding default portraits, whats going on?
