Next step will be to get to e15 particles! You have no way to increase your ob generation rate before that, so it’s pointless to care about our particles or just about anything else. Do your 30s runs if you feel like adding your 5ob/30s to your generation rate, or just go and take a nap, and let the passive generation do its job. If you don’t care about reincarnating

every 30s, you can start doing runs to maximise offerings. Set auto-reincarnate to the time from runes as “Optimal Reset time for Offerings: [This number] Seconds.” (not more, not less, you get more offerings per second the longer the run). This should be at least 600 seconds, but if you’ve been spending your quarks in the shop should be a bit more. Do not use them before you get 5×2, though. You want to maximize rune exp per offering as much as possible.

In any case, your research should look like that by the time you reach e15 to e22 particles.

The important ones are 5×2 (x4 offering XP!), and 1×11-12 (each research from 1×11 to 1×15 basically turns tax into SQRT(tax), which is pretty juicy).

Time for some ob gains! You can focus on 3×14, but you will need (5000*4=20000s) which is roughly 14 hours for it to repay its value of one upgrade, so plan accordingly. Thankfully, because of some rebalancing changes, getting 3×14 and 3×15 is better now, and should no longer take

5 hours to max out. Idle game, yo!

e22 particles

It runs itself. Basically.

ore low-hanging fruit kinda upgrades! They’re fairly good. Relatively cheap, too.

Note that is still incomplete, due to this being before 2×6-7 got changed to offline rewards

In the current update however, you’d probably ignore 2×8.

2×6-2×7 are now used to extend offline time. However, 2×7 is pretty expensive. (v1.0101)

By that point, you should start slowly upgrading 4×13-15 as needed when your challenges cap. You are now at about e40 particles. From now on, it’s all about reaching e60. Max out 5×5 right now (you’ll need to max it before you begin the next grind anyway, so you might as well start early). Here are some of the things you can go for in the meantime.

The cheap, useful stuff is gone. All that’s left is either expensive, or not very useful, or both.

Once you get the e52 particle upgrade, obtainium gain starts to get even larger than before based on your offerings. e60 particles create a synergy with obtainium and offerings.

The inflation era (and more obtainium grind)

The reason why this is the inflation era, is because you’re going to get a lot more particles from here on out.

As soon as (or even before) you reach e60, you should start saving your offerings. Do 1h runs, an./d don’t spend your offerings until they get to 100k for the first time. This is to help towards capping the multipliers for the e52 and e60 upgrades.

If you’re going for longer runs though, you will need the shop obtainium upgrades at level 5 first.

From there, get your offerings above 100k and obtainium above 3e7. You can, while you do your runs, max out the rest of the research, starting with 3×15 asap to get even more obtainium, then continuing with:

The actually useful, non-overpriced stuff.

The rest. Well, maybe except for 2×7 in the current version and definitely not 5×10.

And that’s it! You’ve finished the beginnings of research… but there is a lot more to go. You’ll need to grind a lot more obtainium, because this is where the big research upgrades come into play.

THIS IS A REALLY WIP AREA, STUFF WILL CHANGE AROUND AND BELOW THIS POINT.

Note: 2×9-10 is still not worth it, but can be easily bought once you have a good best obtainium/sec. 5×10 now costs 2.5B obtainium (this is for upgrades affecting later content, you cannot even utilize the upgrades yet as it involves a later mechanic you don’t have access to yet).

Beating `Multiplier/Accelerator—` ten times unlocks 5 more researches. Getting 1×16 to max level is the right idea. You should ignore the runes for now until you have maxed out

1×16, then save until you have beaten c8x1.

Note: 1×16 says it’s multiplicative; it’s other-multiplicative but self-additive.

In the v1.009 update, 20 more menacing researches have appeared. This also means other stuff has happened in the process. With that in mind, you’re going to need a bit more particles.

+e300 particles

THIS SECTION WAS CREATED PRIOR TO v1.0101 AND MANY OTHER CHANGES, SO THIS IS OUTDATED INFORMATION.

In order to get to the rest of the big researches, you have to beat Cost++ once. It’s pretty simple once you have unlocked almost all of the base researches, but it’s really painful to get to. You’ll see when you try it.

By the way: You should have a lot of quarks to spend on in the shop that just opened up some time ago at this point. This is mostly because of your achievements.

These will help you in your quest to research the big ones.

(Buy as much of these as you possibly can, your obtainium should be more prioritized compared to offerings, however you should still invest in offerings)

Wait… see how painful Cost++ was? Your atoms don’t even do anything, and you can’t even reach the requirement yet! That’s concerning. Now maybe we need to wait a while.

Your next goal is to beat Cost++, which will require some grinding.

If you max 1×16, save obtainium for later. There’ll be some new researches. Grind a ton of offerings right now. First important rune to level is the Thrift Rune; getting it to 200 will 1x1give you recycling %, making you get more EXP per offering. Higher levels than 200 will give you tax reduction, but this rune is also pretty expensive so it’s worth going into Duplication Rune due to it also giving tax reduction. You will need to grind quite heavily to get researches that are a must have, and you don’t need to increase the rune max levels since you don’t have very high level runes yet, and spending the obt later will get you more offerings than the small discounts here will.

At e500 particles and runes 285/220/120/200 I was able to finish C6x17 and C7x12. Note that C6 and C7 completions retroactively increase your rune levels, so keep chipping away at them as you grind out the offerings for C8.

e600 particles should get you c7x13 (multiplier/accelerator—) with rune levels 350/260/175/235.

Get to e750 particles, level 350/300 dupe/thrift, and see how close you get. There’s not much to say here; it’s just a long grind.

Cost++: needs a little below e800, with cheapest route is believed to be around

412/330/165/230 to 435/350/175/250.

Do challenge 8 for the massively important new research as soon as you think you can. Congrats, you finally made it over the wall, but there’s somewhat more to go.

Expanded research (pre-anthill patch)

(OUTDATED) Pre anthill route (Written 2020-06-07)

This was written pre-anthill. You may wish to deviate from this guide to gain particles early, particularly to begin using anthill. With the new V1.0101 update however, you are probably going to have to deviate from this guide anyway. With these new researches however, you’re going to need some help.

. This is based off a modified version of a pin in the #rune-5-to-new-frontiers-and-students discord channel.

1×16 will get you extra obt, and is (relative to everything else here) cheap and quick. It’s not worth going for anything else in the last 5 columns till after you’ve maxed it. Get yourself a clear of c8x1 (see previous section, e300 particles) as a priority to unlock 2×17. Anthill also will unlock from this.

2×17 will unlock a new rune (Superior Intellect or SI) which will help with obt generation, extend the offering timer (so you can do longer transcensions for more offerings/second), and give an ant speed multiplier. It’s recommended you save for this straight after 1×16.

Now upgrade this, to around level 50. Any surplus offerings can be started putting ingood as buying 1% more levels costs more to duplication (“dupe”) rune. Buying 3×20 is thabn 1% of the total you’ve already paid, and most methods of extra EXP per offering aren’t retroactive on spent offerings. It will also apply to the SI rune you have, buffing both the offering timer and obt gain as well as all your other runes. Be sure to regularly update your transcend timer to optimal (see runes).

Buying 1×17 Allows you to save a lot of offerings when pumping up thrift. You should already have 200 thrift to max recycle percentage, but you’re gonna want a lot more. Use your offerings to get to 420-440 duplication rune whilst buying 1×17, and then buy to 400-420 thrift. Keep doing challenges, typically after between c6x22-4 you can do c8x3. c8x3 gives 7.5% recycle chance. This is a massive offering buff, as you go from just over x3 offerings to x4 offerings from recycling, it’s nearly equivalent to +33% offerings. About the same time you can finish challenge 6, for +11% obt.

(originally this guide said c6x25->c8x3 to instantly complete c8x3, but there are consistent reports of c8x3 being easier and earlier)

Your SI rune is a great multiplier to obt gain and helps offering gain, so buy up 2×18. Once you have, keep on upping your SI rune to level 100 whilst doing the next step(s). Be sure to update your transcend timer to optimal (see runes). You can start saving offerings now to dump into your SI rune once you’ve done around a week’s worth of research, or you can spend them. However, a week is also the estimated time till the release of patch 1.010 as of the time of writing (2020-06-07), so preparing for this patch may also be a good idea.

2×16 is slow and painful to start, but it scales up to +100% so picks up toward the end, and you should now be able to start buying it.

5×19 gets you more quarks. They can either be used for long term upgrades or one off potions, but either way are a nice boost. (Quark meta is 7x7xxx at time of writing)

2×20 extends your offering timer. You make offerings faster the longer the run until you hit the cap. Increasing the cap means you make more offerings. Just be sure to update transcend timer to optimal (see runes)

4×20 increases the base offerings, which then get modified by other things. It’s a nice buff to offering prod

4×16 and then 4×17 buff rune XP. If you have the time before the next patch, you can buy them out then dump a ton of offerings into SI. You’ll probably manage around 250 if you saved since getting S to 100 and if you’re been leaving the game open for maximal offering gains.

2×19 will be the last real buff to obt or offerings until anthill or 5×20 (which I would not expect to be legitimately got pre-antihill). It will take as much as 4×16 and 4×17 did, but you should have faster obt gain now, so it should be quicker.

1×18-20 are dirt cheap for you now, 5×16-18 will do stuff in the next patch.5×20 is prohibitively expensive. If you’re here you probably don’t need this guide any more.

1×18 It’s cheap, and sinking a few points into it will let you gain some %ob with offerings (0.05% per rune level)

3×18 then 3×16 (3×18 is better, apparently)

1×19 1×20 It’s cheap, and sinking a few points into it will let you gain some %ob with offerings (0.05% per rune level)

4×18 accelerators are still better

V1.0101: Hey, the runes are easier to upgrade now. Might as well focus on Thrift and Speed, then Prism and Duplication, although Thrift and Duplication are still the most important. 1×16 is definitely a must have to max out now and no longer takes an eternity. 2×16 is actually ok too.

Recommendation for C8x3:

Should do C6x22/23 first then C8x2 then focus on C6x25 which takes around 10-20 mins with this rune setup:

After that C8x3 should be a breeze.If you are still having difficulty you can try the no autobuyer trick.

NOTE: With 500/450/200/425 you can beat c8x3 but not c6x25 (though once you beat c8x3 c6x25 is also beatable). There’s no reason to do c6x25 first.

Hey, wait, this isn’t research! However, you are researching stuff about these sacred ants, so it’s probably about time we’d talk about this now.

First, you need e800 particles, as in the first ant literally costing e800 particles. You should probably already have it, if not, it will probably take you a couple days (you should have enough when you beat Cost++).

So you have them? Now you can start generating crumbs. It’s still an idle game though, just another one you have to manage. Your very first ant produces quite a small amount of crumbs, but don’t worry, they last through reincarnations. These crumbs give a coin multiplier and can buy some other types of formicidae (ants). You’re going to have to check them often in order to make those ants efficient.

Research progression, for the x16-x20 block

(This order doesn’t change post-1.0101. It just gets faster)

5×10 can be purchased whenever you exceed e1900 particles, and you shouldn’t buy it before then, as it will be useless. The first upgrade of the bunch costs e1900 particles, which boosts all ant tier production by 5x.

Ant purchase priorities

Eventually, once you hit e40 galactic crumbs, you can sacrifice your ants to make them stronger. This requires time and some upgrades to make it more effective. You should at least try to double your multiplier every sacrifice, or even more. As ant sacrifice becomes more powerful, so does your Ant ELO.

Achievements are at 2x/6x/20x/100x/500x/6,666x/77,777x multiplier. They grant the ability to autobuy specific ants and increase Ant ELO. Ant ELO will scale at some point to be “effective” based on the amount of ELO you have after 3,500 ELO.:

The next goal is to beat the No-Runes challenge once. This unlocks a new feature: Talismans and you get another global diamond upgrade. No-Runes completion is possible at around e72 to e80 galactic crumbs, or about a 500x ant multiplier. Since that is a lot, you might be here for some time, but not for too long. You can get 3×19 if you want to boost yourself in the challenge. It only costs 20 billion obtainium.

Post No-Runes (Talismans)

So you’ve completed No-Runes once. You thought the researches were over.

No. They weren’t over. It only gets deeper from here.

In fact, they’re way more expensive. 5×20 is way too expensive for now. Ignore it and start completing whatever is left of the last 20 new, and then fill out the 10 new ones.

1×21->1×22->1×23->2×23->1×25->1×24->2×21->2×24->2×22->2×25->5×20 is what’s pinned on Discord25*

You also unlock a new feature called Talismans! They give you added rune levels for three runes of your choice, at the expense of losing rune levels for two other runes. Ant Sacrifice will now give resources used to level up/enhance these talismans based on your Ant ELO.

Chronos: +10% Multiplier Boosts + [Runes]

Mortuus: +2 ant levels + [Runes]

Plastic: Gain 1x normal production + [Runes]

When you start out on Talismans, you should respec them to 2/4/5, or Dupe/Thrift/SI. Doing so will nerf the speed and prism runes, but the buffs to Dupe, Thrift, and SI outweighs the penalties you’re receiving.

There are 4 currently achievable talismans and 3 unachievable ones

Enhance +30 Fortify lvl

Exemption mythic: +125 Dupe rune lvl

Chronos mythic: +125 Speed rune lvl

Mortuus mythic: Gain ant speed based on your total rune level

Plastic mythic: +2 Quarks per hour on Export

Metaphysic mythic: +125 Thrift rune lvl

Midas mythic: +125 Prism rune lvl

Polymath mythic: +125 SI rune lvl

Blessings are additional Rune effects that unlock when Rune’s level reaches a certain milestone.

Dupe: 1500+ (Multiplier Boost Effect x #)

Disclaimer: Beyond this point, many things not related to research will be here. This is important, obviously because it is the path you should take with your cube upgrades.

Ascension is not for the faint of heart, it has the nearly the same depth as everything else in the game combined, and the first few will take multiple days.

Don’t worry about corruptions until you did at least c11x2, they are gonna slow down your cube/s gain for a minor increase on tesseracts/s.

“CUBE SPENDING GUIDE

It’s alright to buy automation depending on your playstyle but keep in mind it will slow you down on your journey to c11 (except for 1×7 buy that shit A2).

Do not buy a second dot, save up to buy a vector instead.

“I did c11, what now?

You want more cubes, keep ascending and spend some more in tributes, i’d recommend around 30-50k.

After that you want to get more upgrades.

Finish row #1 except w1x10.

Now open more cubes until you have 80k+ cube tributes and go for c11x2. The more cube tributes you have, the faster you do it.

When do I get auto ascensions?

After c11x2 you can easily set up a long run and get the obtanium to buy r6x25 which allows you to do Challenges on autopilot.

You also want to buy the w1x10 update now that does auto ascend whenever you hit the goal you set in the corruptions tab.

If you have both, let the numbers in auto challenge 1/1/1 and set Auto Reincarnation to 5sec ingame time. Aim to get w3x8 now, to speed up the progress, so you don’t need to set auto Reincarnation. You also should be able to set auto challenge to 0/0.55/0 with it. Have fun

What about Corruptions? What do they do?

Corruptions basically buffs your cube and tesseract gain, but make the ascension harder. If you activate some they’re gonna increase your Ascension score and at like 100k score you get 3 instead of 1 tesseract.

But don’t worry about corruptions until you did at least c11x2, they are gonna slow down your cube/s gain for a minor increase on tesseracts/s.

After c11x2 and w3x8 you can slowly think about it.

Try and raise them every so often. If things go bad, revert them to previous levels.

Everytime you upgrade your corruptions, try changing your auto challenge timers a bit, either down or up. Sometimes a couple tenths of a second up will make your cubes/sec higher.

overview: All our money will come from ants, we sac everything that doesn’t help with c10.

general notes: Every corruption gives ant penalty, so you can’t just recklessly max even the useless ones. You probably can’t just do all these corruptions, so do the raises somewhat equally. Like set everything to 70% of what’s here and gradually increase. The higher a corruption already is, the less score multi one more point gives so don’t just go 10 dia and 4 multi, do 7-7 instead.

To get max of daily (100 not 25):

this is just what I had, no hard requirements. I don’t recommend anything less than this tho since I already had to grind for some stuff lol

POST C14

After completing C14x1, periodically try to get the next reward for C15 exponent, turning on auto reincarnate at 0 seconds and leaving it for a short while will greatly increase your achievable score as you are guaranteed at least 1 obtainium for each reincarnation. After this do some manuel reincarnations and trancensions for particles and mythos shards, as the max corruptions in C15 effect means that there is a huge time divider from corruption 3, and the 1% gain per second particle/mythos shard gain is so slow that you will be waiting for years to get what you could get if you manually reincarnate/transcend. Once you aren’t getting many gains/run out of patience, then set auto prestige on 0 seconds to do effectively the same thing you did with the obtainium..

So you completed C14 now what?

Please note a lot has changed since this was written once new strats arise please let me know.

Corruption

For cube runs, corruptions have changed a lot due to the linear achievement bonus from 100 ascensions you now want to do longer runs with more challenge completions

The major goals are getting c10x60, followed by researches 8×14 and 8×19, 8×22

Finding your optimal corruptions will take some trial-and-error, eventually, you will get a feel for it

What if I can’t make it to c10x60 with the base corruptions?

Get as many c10 completions as you can, keep in mind your run might take a long time give it

1hr. Continue opening cubes until you can make it through c10x60.

How do I increase my corruption settings?

Always increase these together and by 1 each, this should be done after being able to clear c10x60 with Hyperchallenged at 9-12. Please note: when raising these you will need to lower Hyperchallenged to around 3 or 4 to make getting c10x60 possible, this will still be worth it for more cube/s.

Raising this can be hard, try raising and check if it will be possible to get r8x22 if not lower it back down until you can.

Any time it becomes very easy for you to complete c10x60 with your current setup.

Try raising this when it is very easy for you to reach r8x22, if after raising by 1 you can not get r8x22 in a reasonable time change back. Your 1st level in this should likely come before adding 1 to Divisiveness & Maladaption

Do not raise this past 4, unless you have Platonic Upgrade C6 Unlocked (If you don’t know what Platonic Upgrades are, just ignore this for now, and never raise market deflation past 4. Come back once you unlock it).

If you have Platonic Upgrade C6, you should raise Market Deflation to the max (currently 13, may change with future updates). It takes a little more work but you can greatly increase your score and thereby cube earnings.

There are varying directions on this, but a decent rule of thumb is to check your SI rune level and if you can get to 2500 you should be fine with that drought level, increase if you get a ton more than that, should very early be able to do 8 and stay there

Offering and Obtanium Runs

Both of these runs allow you to further increase resources that will increase your cube/s, neither should be done in C11.

Offering Run:

Do this to increase your Constant & Blessings/Spirits

Do some initial ant sacrifices in order to get research, rune levels, and talisman levels

Depending on your situation, the obtanium run can actually be more efficient at increasing constant, blessings and spirits than the offering run. Its worth trying both, to see which one works best for you.

Platonic Cubes

I was able to get first plantonic cubes at 1.25e14 total cube tributes, 1.4M total hypercube benedictions, 2k 5×10, 100,000/100,000 8×25, 2T spirit each, 4e19 blessing each, with 2/2/4/6/2/4/11/9/11 corruptions, took around 6 minutes, so probably possible with less. When platonic cubes are unlocked, they can mostly be ignored for a while, as they dont give enough of a benefit to try to optimize runs towards them. Continue optimizing runs to get maximal cubes per second, and open all platonic cubes. After getting platonic cubes, you should eventually fall into a sort of pattern, 1 long run(for most of a day, say 20 hours), a short(5min) no challenge/corruption run to get full research 8×23 for opening half the cubes using method listed above(other half goes into cube upgrade 5×10), then a 1-1.5 hour offering run as described above, then a few half hour test runs to see if it is profitable to raise corruptions, and repeat. Every couple cycles you should try to see if you can get more rewards from C15(seen in plantonic cube upgrade subtab). Note that because of researches 6×4, 6×19 7×9, 7×24, and 8×14, you can get a minor boost by buying extra fragments of everything even after maxing all talisman levels.

Once you reach around 2e16 cube tributes total, with the equivalent amount you should be able to get in other cube types/spirit/blessings, turn off auto buy for tesseract buildings and start to save them, as well a platonic cubes. After a long run, then buy as many platonic 1×2 upgrades as is possible as possible(likely just 1-2 for a while), then buy as many platonic 1×1 upgrades as possible, you will only get minor gains at this point for buying tesseract buildings because they are now so expensive, and opening tesseracts is much less efficient for getting gifts than opening hypercubes, so just save them for p1x2. After you have bought the upgrades, then do a short no corruption run to open half of the cubes and use other half for cube upgrade 5×10. Remember to only open hypercubes and normal cubes, and to do so after buying the platonic upgrades.
