Biomes!: New environments to diversify the world.

Biomes! Core provides the framework for the Biomes! mod series and is required for any Biomes! mods to work. Place this mod BEFORE any other Biomes! mods! This mod does and will contain the things that will be a feature across all the biomes. In addition, this mod contains several base defs and a custom terrain available for use by other modders.

The intention of the mod series is to make the worlds of Rimworld more varied and interesting, This mod will add multiple new Biomes to the world along with the plants and animals to populate them. Four «core» biomes are intended currently.

We’re currently recruiting programmers and Artists! If you would like to join the team shoot one of us a message!

THE ONLY MODULES OUT CURRENTLY ARE ISLANDS AND CHROMATIC OASIS.

Our goal as a mod series is to add new environments that we feel the vanilla game is sorely lacking, which in this case is islands! Biomes! Islands currently adds six types of island, Tropical, Atoll, Boreal, Tundra, Temperate, and Desert, each with things to make them unique from vanilla biomes!

Islands are isolated, requiring transport pods to leave (or modded transports like STRS), but traders, visitors, and raiders will still swim out to you at the normal rate.

Please note that this mod DOES make DEEP WATER passable (It’s for the fish and other aquatic life)

Temperate Islands are mild and pleasant, a great introduction to island life.

Atolls have a large beautiful lagoon. While it is quite beautiful, it takes up a lot of room and make building a large colony difficult, leading to unique challenges. Atolls are also the home of the Kiwi! Soil on atolls tends to be rather poor so it’s a challenge to grow crops starting out. Due to the scarcity of predators, atolls tend to be quite safe to live on. Another large challenge to atolls is the sheer lack of metal and stone, with the only «stone» being coral even with deep drills.

Desert islands are somewhat barren, but still have plenty of fish! Settle here to see lots of unique crabs – some of which can haul.

Tropical Islands are jungle-level dense when it comes to vegetation but have a lot more land for building on. They can also generate with mountains and have lots of natural food you can gather. These islands have more dangerous predators but are still great for a tropical getaway!

Boreal Islands are cold, but ultimately hospitable. Watch the ocean for schools of whales!

Tundra Islands are cold, isolated, and desolate with rocky beaches. Planning is critical to survival here.

Crops: Devil’s claw, coconuts, oranges! Everything you want to find on an island!

Sea Life: Bring the water to life with sardines, giant mantas and more! Watch out for sharks!

V1.6 Caravans, Raids, and Animal Events now avoid DeepWater tiles when walking in from the edges unless they are for an animal type that swims. Caravans will also avoid DeepWater exit points when leaving if possible.

Advanced Biomes добавляет в RimWorld 5 новых биомов с настраиваемой погодой, растениями и животными.

Для работы мода требуется: Harmony

As I’m working on another project, I don’t have time to dedicate to this mod, also there are other mods outside doing what I wanted to do with this mod. So this one is not a priority for me at the moment. I’m still working on RimUniverse series, but will be focused on other aspects of RimWorld.


WaterResponsive: Rivers, lakes, marsh water and coastal water will respond to extreme low temperatures freezing the water.







Also thanks to Erdelf, Dr Zhivago, Jamaican Castle and Garthor for helping me in my first steps in modding making this mod and all its coming updates possible.
