THIS MOD WORKS ONLY IN THE LAST STEAM VERSION (2.080)
To install the mod, extract the contents of the archive (Sam2Renovation folder, Sam2Renovation.mod and Sam2Renovation.nfo) in «Serious Sam 2\Content» folder
This mod is designed for the latest Steam version. Also, this mod is designed for the ratio of the screen 16:9, keep in mind (4:3 looks unpleasant, but you can install addon).

It has been a couple of years since I last updated you all on the more internal goings on at Nexus Mods so I’ve decided to drum up enough enthusiasm to write another of my long-winded, banal «blog posts» on the matter. I wasn’t able to get around to doing one last year and I am aware that some of you actually like to punish yourselves, but if you’re like me and just like to skim read, here’s the TL;DR:

Именно тогда на планету и вторгался могущественный Ментал, повелитель инопланетных монстров по всей галактике. В первых частях серии (2001-2002 гг.) Сэм доблестно сражался с чудовищами Ментала посреди египетских пирамид и величественных храмов Ассирии. Но во второй части, которая была выпущена в 2005 году, всё капитально изменилось.
В Serious Sam 2 Сэм уже не спецназовец США, а суперсолдат из далёкого будущего. Игра стала своего рода перезапуском всей серии. Теперь действие происходит уже не на Земле, а на нескольких планетах, где Сэму предстоит встретиться с полководцами Ментала, который, в свою очередь, теперь вовсе не мистическая демоническая сущность как в первых частях, а вполне «современный» галактический император, руководящий цивилизацией Сириуса. Ментал желает полного порабощения всех рас в галактике, и именно Сэму предстоит спасти всех этих диковинных существ от зловещей орды.
Добрые инопланетяне, которых нужно спасать Сэму, выглядят очень мультяшно и комично. Да и враги здесь совсем переменились. Раньше герой боролся с какими-то мутантами, гибридами и зомби, а во второй части ему предстояло столкнуться уже с более мощными существами, вроде орков с бластерами, минотавров-киборгов, робототехнических изделий и прочих симпотяг. На вооружении Сэма уже не пушки XXI столетия, а футуристические бластеры. Без сомнения, стоит сказать, что Serious Sam 2 и вовсе не похож на своих пращуров. Всё здесь как-то… по-другому что ли?!
Переходя к графической составляющей, то можно сказать, что она на вершине горы. Детальность прорисовки персонажей просто зашкаливает. Да и геймплей здесь устроен совершенно иначе в сравнении с первой частью и ее дополнением. Мы спокойно можем поговорить с теми или иными существами, чего мы были лишены в первых частях серии. В Serious Sam 2 можно спокойно залезть во вражескую или дружественную технику, прокатиться на местных динозаврах, полетать на вертолёте и даже захватить контроль над кибернетическим созданием. По пути нам даже попадаются танки-шары, которые могут превращать противника в отбивную.
Одним словом, Serious Sam 2 — это настоящий прорыв. Правда не все критики оценили проект хорошо. Многие жаловались на обилие пошловатого юмора и всяких непристойностей. А уж юмора в игре хватает, да и намёков на современный мир тоже. Есть здесь, например, планета, где все жители одеваются как Элвис Пресли. Есть миры, населённые смешными гоблинами-панками. Да здесь даже планета с гигантскими великанами-садовниками имеется. Вселенная Сэма стала куда смешнее. Это уже какая-то фантастическая комедия вроде «Автостопом по галактике», а не космическая сага о войне.
Игра также обладает хорошим мультиплеером и позволяет вам сражаться на разных картах с друзьями или же создавать артели, с которыми можно крошить захватчиков по разным мирам. Для Serious Sam 2 было разработано и немалое количество разных модификаций. Правда, многие в основном добавляют отдельные пушки или ретекстуры врагов. Однако, мы сумели собрать самые популярные моды, которые до сих пор осваиваются множеством игроков.
УСТАНОВКА МОДОВ
Моды для Serious Sam 2 устанавливаются различными способами. В основном, многие дополнения имеют собственные инсталляторы, которые и перемещают новые файлы в корневую папку с игрой. Для Serious Sam 2 не существует никаких менеджеров дополнений, так что если вы желаете установить какой-либо мод, придётся делать на всякий случай копии папки оригинальной игры, иначе после удаления данного мода могут возникнуть проблемы с запуском. Внимательно читайте инструкции по установке каждого из дополнений, которые несомненно присутствуют в архивах и инсталляторах.
