История создания
«Отец» хакинга игры Sonic Generations, известный под ником DarioFF или samothethief (далее просто Дарио) на своем канале на ютубе опубликовал видео [1], демонстрирующее кастомный (т.е. созданный не официальными разработчиками) уровень. Хотя уровень как таковым кастомным не был. Это был уровень Windmill Isle Act 1 из Sonic Unleashed, которая построена на том же движке, что и Sonic Generations, а именно на Hedgehog Engine. Как видно на видео, уровень толком не имел даже нормального освещения (которое было скорее всего дефолтным из уровня Speed Highway, и то без GIA) и не имел коллизии. Но именно с этого момента начался «серьезный» хакинг игры Sonic Generations. Спустя некоторое время, DarioFF смог перенести коллизию и родное освещение уровня. Так же, вскоре была опубликована программа для переноса кастомной геометрии и расстановки объектов на уровне. Прогресс хакинга Sonic Generations шел попутно с портированием уровней из Sonic Unleashed. Помимо видео о готовых уровнях, DarioFF так же выкладывал видео о новых достижениях в хакинге.
Хронология
12.01.2012 Ссылка Первое видео. Дарио демонстрирует уровень Windmill Isle Act 1 Day. Отсутствует GIA, и коллизия. Неправильно работают динамические невзаимодействующие объекты и неправильно расположена часть взаимодействующих объектов. Так же некорректно импортировались UVW карты.
15.01.2012 Ссылка Показаны другие уровни, а именно Dragon Road, Jungle Joyride, Arid Sands, Savannah Citadel и Cool Edge. Выявилась проблема с неподгружаемыми частями уровня и краше игры если подгружается какой то неправильный объект (оба случая в Jungle Jouride). Ситуация в целом не поменялась, однако, как оказалось, работают некоторые шейдеры (движение воды в Cool Edge и отражения). Частично работала GIA на уровне Savannah Citadel. Так же импортирована вся музыка, причем с правильными Boost дорожками.
25.01.2012 Ссылка Публикация видео с первым проходимым уровнем (Windmill Isle Act 1 Day), а все благодаря импортированной коллизии. Остальное судя по всему не изменилось. Как видно, камеры на данном уровне работают корректно.
28.01.2012 Ссылка Показан Windmill Isle Act 2 Day. Исправлены UVW карты, так что теперь текстуры отображаются корректно. Автор специально удалил освещение, ибо оно все ещё работает некорректно или не работает. Так же некоторые камеры работают некорректно.
31.01.2012 Ссылка Показана часть Windmill Isle Act 2 Day, часть Dragon Road Act 1 Day и Cool Edge Act 1 Day. Автор смог включить GIA, хотя работало оно не совсем правильно. Была импортирована улучшенная версия GIA из DLC. Теней по прежнему нет.

13.05.2012 Ссылка Первый публично выложенный уровень (Windmill Isle Act 1 Day). Автор хотел лишь протестить его на максимально возможном количестве систем, дабы избежать багов при полировке больших уровней. На уровне в видео нет травы, однако Дарио вскоре выложил патч, который её добавляет. Так же на этом уровне полностью работают анимированные объекты (мельницы).
12.07.2012 Ссылка Релиз Демо, Dragon Road Act 1 Day. Никаких революционных изменений, просто отполированный уровень, полностью работоспособный.
29.07.2012 Ссылка Видео с нарезкой моментов из разработки. Импортированы анимированные объекты окружения, платформы, исправлены объекты, исправлены шкивы, исправлено поведение скайбокса, «реанимирована» физика на льду (она осталась в коде, хоть и не использовалась в Sonic Generations), Wall-Jump теперь работает как в Sonic Unleashed и больше не требует специальных панелей, а так же многие другие фиксы и исправления.
03.08.2012 Ссылка Тест недавно найденного рендера и шейдеров из Sonic Unleashed. Рендер работает некорректно, часть материалов отображается неверно. Однако, отлично работают шейдеры, как видно на уровне Cool Edge. Так же активны направленные тени.

— Steam лицензия игры Sonic Generation. Работоспособность на пиратских версиях не гарантируется, ибо Sonic GMI конфликтует с некоторыми кряками.
— Скачать сам мод и среду запуска для модов SonicGMI по одной из ссылок:
— Распаковать содержимое в папку с игрой.
— Запустить SonicGMI, в списке модов поставить галку Unleashed Project, поставить галку на Enable Mods
— Что бы использовать Unleashed Project Low End, необходимо поставить галку напротив него в списке модов. ПРИМЕЧАНИЕ Unleashed Project Low End должен быть выше по приоритету в списке, чем мод Unleashed Project.
— Что бы включить шейдеры из Sonic Unleashed, необходимо в списке модов выбрать Unleashed FxPipeline Shaders, а ниже выбрать Enable FxPipeline Renderer.

A total conversion mod for Sonic Generations on PC. This mod requires the base game installed from Steam.
This unofficial project ports most of Sonic Unleashed’s daytime levels from the Xbox 360 version into Sonic Generations on PC. It also includes any improvements that are deemed as necessary to accomodate to the better control scheme, higher resolution graphics, and much smoother framerate.

Installing the mod
Simple
Extract the contents of the file you downloaded to anywhere you want. Find where Sonic Generations is stored on your computer.
For example: «C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\sonic generations»
Simply copy the extracted files to the game’s directory.
Run SonicGMI.exe as Administrator* (should be located in the same folder where SonicGenerations.exe is). If your Sonic Generations exe is not modified yet to support mods, simply click the Install/Uninstall button on the bottom.
*: Running as administrator is not a requirement, but it seems to help when creating the FxPipeline renderer.
Configuring mods
Once your game is set up to support mods, all you need to do to play is enable them via SonicGMI.
To play the Unleashed Project, simply check the box next to its name on the mods list. If you intend to use the FxPipeline renderer, you should also enable the «Unleashed FxPipeline Shaders» mod the same way. Both configuration examples are shown here.
Installing FxPipeline Renderer: Check the «Enable FxPipeline Renderer» box as shown here, and click on the «Create alternate executable» button. Please note this is a one-time operation only. Once it’s available, the Save and Play button will be enabled.
Update: Click on «Download Update» while selecting the FxPipeline shaders to fix the constant blur bug. (Intel / Some AMD Cards)
Optional
There’s an optional mod called «Unleashed Project Low End», which simply overrides various settings in the game to try to improve performance as much as possible, while sacrificing many graphical effects.

Technical breakdowns posted; Unleashed Sonic Mod released
This is a post that was supposed to come a long time ago, but I never really got around to finishing it in time. Since it’s time for the MOTY voting awards, it sounds like a good time to wrap this up.
This is a technical breakdown of all the events and research that went into developing this mod, starting from its early inception a month after the release of Sonic Generations for PC/360/PS3. This also includes an indepth explanation of most replacements, workarounds, and design decisions that made it into the final product. It should be an interesting insight into how modding a game that has absolutely zero official modding tools or support works, and all the problems that had to be solved as a result. There might be some inaccuracies on the timing of the events, but most of what I explain here can be checked on the 255-pages long hacking topic over at Sonic Retro.
What about future updates?
I’ve ran into some problems with the updating infrastructure, so I’m looking for a good solution first. The only update so far since release has been for the FxPipeline Shaders mod, and I recommend you to update it if you had the «blur» bug present in Intel HD and newer driver version Radeon 7000 cards. Apart from some minor layout changes to fix bugs in some levels, there’s not much else to patch other than adding brand new content. The issues with freezing aren’t fully reported in detail, aren’t consistent to reproduce, and further access to CPKREDIR’s source code and debugging functionality is needed to track the problems. I’ve heard the Low End Mod might be causing more troubles than it solves, so that’s probably worth disabling to see if it fixes some issues or not.
I can’t really promise if new content is coming or not, as I’ve felt THIS particular project itself is mostly finished unless there’s some strides in hacking for getting more level slots to work. I’m not a huge fan of the current alternative of having to split mods, especially with how savefile compatibility and managing the files in general would work. But that doesn’t prevent anyone else from trying to do more content now that I’ve explained most of the work necessary. With that said, anyone has my permission to reuse the custom assets or files included in this mod as long as they’re properly credited.
Conclusion

It is not fully transformation of «Sonic Unleashed» (console exclusive) Game, it is just porting and fixing 8 Beautiful Unleashed maps.

After downloading mod, Unzip downloaded file with 7zip or any unzipping program.
- Open SonicGMI application. (Sonic Generations Mod Installer)
- Click Install/Uninstall, it will ask to create for backup, accept it.
- Choose Unleashed Project from mods list.
- Choose Enable Mods from cpkredir options.
- Click Save and Play.
And don’t forget that; You can switch mod and base game from SonicGMI.
