If you can tell us about your computer setup it may give us or the community an idea as to why your Alt-F7 is not working. I am betting it is probably a laptop? In those cases sometimes the function keys are remapped oddly by the manufacturer and you need to press a special function key to get the F keys to work.
I hope we can help.
Actually. I don’t think I had the cheat menu working either.
And I’m on a Desktop. My keyboard might have an FN key, but my F keys are F keys by default.
Just double checked. Cheats menu isn’t working here and using the FN key makes my volume go up/down with F7/F8.
There should be a key on your keyboard to make the function keys behave like F keys. If it is making your volume change, then they are working as shortcut keys instead in their current mode.
I have also made a note to add a secondary way to access the cheat codes since some keyboards have this function key issue. That should resolve it for people in the future as well.

You missed my point. It is WHEN I use the additional function key that my F7 changes volume.
Otherwise my F keys are just F keys.
Alt+F7 just does nothing inside SPAZ 2.
Just did yet another check. (to see if it’s the keyboard)
This time in SPAZ 1. Turns out the right alt in SPAZ 1 triggers the cheat menu where the left alt doesn’t.
(So AltGr+F7 works in SPAZ1. Alt+F7 didn’t work in SPAZ1)
In SPAZ 2 neither AltGr nor just the Alt key trigger any sort of cheat menu.
You are confusing your PC’s «special» function keys, which can do all sorts of specific tasks — such as change volume and other media settings, turn wifi off and on, en/disengage Num Lock, and etc. — with the standard F1-F12 function keys, which DO NOT have any specific functions defined for them by default in Windows; that would completely defeat their purpose, in fact.
You quite obviously have another program, whether supplied by your PC’s OEM or installed by you, changing F-key functionality.
I took a look in the code and right now we are just looking at Left Alt with the F7. I am adding Right Alt, and AltGr to the list. We will also check the number 0 now since that will always be on a keyboard and not mapped to anything (I hope)
So it will be:
(Left Alt or Right Alt or AltGr) + (F7 or 0)
That should cover everyone 🙂
Will be in next version.
Bumping this for added info.
It turned out that pressing Ctrl+LeftAlt+F7 triggers the Cheat menu.
Which I don’t understand cause Ctrl+Alt usually equals RightAlt/AltGr, hence why I didn’t considered it when AltGr+F7 failed.
