Before you install 2.0 you have to uninstall 1.2.
The test version of 2.0 includes everything from the previous versions.
Risen 3 Real Enhanced Edition aims to improve Risen 3 in every possible way, so NeffO and I put all our mods together, improved them again and made also new changes to the game. The mod is highly customizable and allows you to pic the features you want. In addition you can also change the games language and play with settings like view range, level of detail, and more.To make the installation easy, the mod comes with a powerful installer with the option to easily uninstall the mod. Please note that this mod works only with the 64bit edition(=Enhanced Edition) of Risen 3.
Changes from 1.2.2 to 1.2.3:
-Added German translation to the installer
-Fixed icon for old sword
The different features from which you can choose are:
High Resolution Textures
Much higher resolution for all textures with more depth and improved normal maps. This will cost a lot of performance but makes Risen 3 look gorgeous when combined with the lighting and weather overhaul. I recommend 2-3GB video RAM and the graphics card should be as strong as the Geforce GTX 770 or 960.
Lighting and Weather Overhaul
Enhanced Lighting and weather. To fit the story’s atmosphere the game is much darker and the coloring is less saturated to make the game appear more mature.
Alternative GUI
I have drawn another GUI. The HUD looks a bit like Risen 2’s while the Inventory looks less pirate themed.
Improved Particles
More realistic looking blood and water particles. That isn’t affecting performance at all.
Rebalanced Enemies
Rebalanced stats for all enemies to make the game more interesting and challenging. Difficulty should be close to Risen 1’s. The amount of xp gained is also reduced to ensure that the game is interesting until the end. This mod isn’t just making every enemy stronger, but the difference between easier and harder enemies is now much higher, so sand devils are still really weak enemies, even at beginning, but you shouldn’t mess around with dragonsnappers or even harder enemies right after the tutorial.
Rewritten AI and Enemy Behaviour
All enemies are more aggressive and will fight together instead of waiting in a queue to duel the player. In addition NPCs will kick you sometimes back to get some distance. However with the Real Enhanced Edition fights are less frustrating than with the previous AI mod. Besides the AI this will also change the behaviour of several enemies. For Example Dragonsnappers won’t cancel their attacks when you hit them, but the attack will be slowed. Golems can’ t be interrupted at all. And finally quick time events during fights are completely removed.
Rebalanced Weapons and Magic
New stats for weapons and spells to improve balance. In addition there are new weapons and even the new weapon type spear available. You will get a recipe to craft spears after finishing the tutorial.
Overhauled Alchemy
Plants can be dragged into the quick bar and potions have more interesting effects. The way how permanent potions are working is also changed. You can now still use them if you have maximized the related attribute.
Consumables Tweaks
Instead of getting provisions you will now get the different food types. They all have their own stats.
Alternative Controller Mapping
An alternative mapping for controllers that lets you aim, move and shoot at the same time. The melee controls have also been changed.
